She is the Deputy Provincial Health Officer, was the chair of Immunize Canada, is a member of the Canadian National Advisory Committee on Immunization and the National Infection Control Guidelines Steering Committee, among other things.

On April 20, 2022, Henry gave an update on the COVID pandemic. She said that her province will no longer have to follow public health rules about wearing masks and staying away from other people. She even decided to stop the province’s daily updates on COVID-19 and switch to weekly updates on new infections and deaths, saying again that the virus is “not there right now.”

But people didn’t like her decision, especially when she got rid of the mask rule and didn’t have a clear plan for when the school would reopen, and she got a lot of criticism for it. This is not the first time Dr. Bonie made a decision that the people did not like.

During the pandemic, Dr. Bonnie Henry was harassed, slashed, and even threatened with death by the people of BC because they didn’t like what she did to stop the COVID-19 outbreak.

People in BC held protests to criticize Henry for the restrictions she put on social mobilization during the pandemic, and they continued to make fun of her by putting up posters and posting on social media. People who spread lies about maskers even posted violent and offensive comments about her online.

The Provincial Health Services Authority pays Dr. Bonnie Henry’s salary and benefits, and the Ministry pays for any costs she has to pay for herself.

The Breaker News said that her contract said she would make a gross annual salary of $301,078 plus an extra $12,000 for the Ministry’s public health on-call rate and up to $5,000 for professional membership and licensing fees, as well as pension, health, dental, and insurance benefits.

The price of her contract was set at $384,316. But the PHSA sunshine list shows that Henry got $342,292 and $9,758 in reimbursements for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2021.
