Tuukka Rask’s NHL career began when he was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2005.3
However, despite being drafted, the Maple Leafs didn’t utilize him in any regular matches.
Eventually, he was traded to the Boston Bruins in exchange for the former Calder Memorial Trophy-winning goaltender, Andrew Raycroft.
Early Years in the AHL
In May 2007, Rask signed a three-year contract with the Bruins. He spent the 2007-08 season playing for their primary development team, the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).
During this time, he participated in 45 matches, securing victory in 27 of them and registering an impressive .905 save percentage. Additionally, Rask played four matches for Boston that season, showcasing his potential.
Stepping into the NHL
