After that, they relocated to Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, where he attended Donegal High School. He excelled in sports at school, particularly football, basketball, and track.
Strickland felt compelled to “follow in his father’s footsteps” after graduation and enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. Strickland began his career by travelling to South Carolina for basic training. He then travelled to Augusta, Georgia, for advanced individual training.
He was then assigned to York, Pennsylvania, to complete his basic training.
