Who Is Skylar Peterson Tosic?
Skylar Gregory Peterson Tosic was born on December 31, 1994, in Escondido, California, in San Diego County. Olivia Tosic, his mother, divorced his biological father when she was pregnant with him. Skylar was living in Escondido with his mother and her extended family in their family home across from Kit Carson Park at the time of the event. As a teen, he tutored his peers in arithmetic and played bass in various amateur rock bands. According to his mother, when Skylar reached 18, he isolated himself and lost contact with several of his high school acquaintances.
Skylar, according to Olivia, was apprehensive to mix with new people when he first arrived at Palomar College. He used to work in San Diego County as a registered caregiver for his mother’s companion, Ray Masters AKA “Ukulele Ray,” a well-known musician in Escondido. Skylar texted Olivia on August 28, 2015, saying, “I’m with two new buddies, Thadeus and Eli.” They’re a touch too amusing.” She was understandably anxious and contacted him immediately to inquire about his location, but she received no response. Skylar, on the other hand, returned home two days later, on August 30, covered in dirt and claiming to have gone trekking.
Olivia, concerned about her 20-year-old son, urged him to sit down and talk with him after she returned from the bathroom. Olivia was surprised to learn Skylar had left the house again after only 15 minutes. Unfortunately, that was the last time she saw her kid. At around 8:00 p.m., she received another cryptic text from him that read: “There are two women with us now.” They have passports and are wealthy. They want me to accompany them on their trip. Also, they wish to visit…” Olivia immediately contacted the Escondido police department and expressed her worries.
What Happened to Skylar Peterson Tosic?
Because Skylar is an adult, the police could do little, so Olivia engaged a private detective to assist her in finding his son. The investigator assisted her in tracking Skylar’s movements prior to his abduction, discovering that on August 28, he took an Uber to San Pasqual Academy in Escondido. She couldn’t find out where he slept that night, but the Academy director discovered him dehydrated and exhausted on August 29. Skylar was allowed to sleep there on August 29 after the director gave him water and crackers, and several Academy workers dropped him home on August 30.
Skylar had taken another Uber on August 30 and was dumped off near the San Pasqual Academy, which has been his last traced location since then. Years passed, and Olivia still had no leads to help him locate her son. The search was additionally hampered by the death of her partner, Ray, in April 2018, and the termination of her private investigator’s probe due to breast cancer.
Is Skylar Peterson Tosic Dead or Alive?
Olivia, despite the turbulence, refuses to give up on her hunt, launching a fledgling nonprofit, Sky Alert Foundation, and hosting a charity rock concert in August 2021 at Flawless Bistro & Bar in Escondido to generate funds for her organization. She intends to use it to establish an app that hopes to build a nationwide network of licensed drone users who will help law enforcement identify missing people much faster by capturing aerial footage.
“I can’t stop, I have to locate him,” Olivia said of the project. This has been a terrifying experience. My kid had a car and a bank account, and he worked for the county as a caregiver. He’s a genuinely wonderful, upstanding guy. I have the impression that he is still alive in my heart. That is something I firmly believe.”
