Her grandfather, Saturnino, was a war hero who served in the United States Navy during the Second World War.
He participated in the battle of Iwo Jima; his ship narrowly escaped the attack on Pearl Harbor; and he served in a time when the United States military was still segregated.
Her uncle also served his country during the war and was present for some of the fighting in the Korean Conflict. She mentioned that her brother would continue his career in the United States Air Force after retiring as a high-ranking general.
The photographer and her siblings share a strong bond with one another. Her brother was privy to her reminiscences of her time spent in Rio de Janeiro, and she told him about it.
In addition, she mentioned that her siblings frequently discussed getting older in their family discussion.

His Welsh mother and Indian father raised him up in Rotherham, which is located near Sheffield in South Yorkshire, England. Majumdar is the middle child of four children that his parents had.
His grandfather, Pratip “Pat” Majumdar, was an orthopedic specialist for Rotherham United Football Club. Pratip “Pat” Majumdar was born in Calcutta.
Both of his parents were nurses at the Royal Gwent Hospital in the 1950s when they first encountered each other. His mother, Gwen John, was from Southern Wales and worked as a nurse.
Majumdar’s first job was as a book publisher, and he didn’t begin his career in the food industry until he was 40 years old. After his mother became ill and passed away, he became melancholy and did not like his previous work in publishing.
As a result, he made the decision in 2007 to “travel everywhere, eat everything,” which ultimately led to a change in the direction of his life.
While he was vacationing in Brazil in 2010, he met the woman who would become his wife, Sybil Villanueva. Sybil is of Filipino and American descent. On September 17, 2014, he completed the process to become a citizen of the United States.
