The NFL parody account became extremely popular after it spread a rumor that Patrick Mahomes had been arrested for domestic violence.
The LVIIth edition of the Super Bowl took place during the past weekend and was a huge success.
It was apparently the third most watched television show in the history of the United States of America. This was mostly attributable to the celebrity power of the athletes who participated as well as Rihanna’s performance during halftime.
The fact that Patrick Mahomes, a brilliant quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, won both the Super Bowl and the Most Valuable Player award was the most noteworthy piece of information.

Simon Charles: Who Is He?
Fans were curious about who Simon Charles is because he is credited with starting the rumor in the first place.1
The Twitter account known as “Simon Charles” does not belong to a real person; rather, it is a satirical take on the persona of a real-life journalist who reportedly uses that name.
On Twitter, under the handle @S CharlesNFL, you can find the satirical social media account. This account, which has more than 4,000 followers, presents itself as a “esteemed sports writer” by using a stock image of an older gentleman as its profile picture.
The whole bio for the handle, which reads as follows, is the first red flag that the account is not genuine. It says that the user is a “Esteemed sports journalist and Patriots Beat Reporter Double PHD in Journalism and Female Anatomy.”
This account has garnered a lot of attention thanks to the obviously false but hilariously mocking sports content it posts.
The most recent tweet from the account serves as an illustration of this, and it reads as follows: “#BREAKING: Brittney Griner reportedly files for bankruptcy after spending her entire WNBA salary on a Super Bowl ticket.” I really hope that she is able to find the assistance that she needs in order to pay off this debt!
This statement is completely false, and it is merely meant to serve as an illustration of the kind of information that the account shares on its many social networks.

Patrick Mahomes’s False Rumor Spread By NFL Parody Account
A few days after the game, a false allegation began circulating on social media that Patrick Mahomes allegedly utilized performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) during the Super Bowl in order to play through the pain.2
This rumor was spread in an attempt to discredit Mahomes’ performance.
Even though it is not at all accurate, the report has been watched more than 2 million times across various social media platforms.
What Is The Policy on PEDs in the NFL?
According to the National Football League’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, players are not allowed to use anabolic agents, steroids, or exogenous testosterone. It is against the rules for players to utilize any stimulants, growth hormones, or steroids that they have obtained online.3
Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ triumph in the Super Bowl, a screenshot of a post is making its way through social media that makes the allegation that quarterback Patrick Mahomes tested positive for the use of performance-enhancing chemicals.
The tweet appears to have originated from a satirical account.
The National Football League is of the opinion that the use of performance-enhancing chemicals compromises the honest play of the game while also providing advantages to those who take part in it.
In most cases, players are not subject to sanctions during the offseason. In the event that a player fails a drug test during the offseason, the NFL mandates that they participate in and successfully complete a substance addiction treatment program.
Both alcohol and marijuana are excluded from the scope of the PED policy. Positive tests for marijuana under the National Football League’s policy on recreational drugs will no longer result in a financial penalty.

Mahomes finished the AFC Championship Game with 4,839 passing yards, 37 touchdown passes, and 13 interceptions. Nevertheless, the Kansas City Chiefs were unable to hold on to their 18-point lead against the Cincinnati Bengals and lost the game.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl despite suffering from a high ankle sprain during the playoffs. This marks the third time in the last four years that the Chiefs have reached the championship game.
