Roman Kostomarov Hospitalized 2023: Death Hoax
Roman Kostomarov, an Olympic champion, has been receiving medical care for a separate ailment since the commencement of 2023. He is currently undergoing a medical procedure and is still alive.
Numerous rumors regarding his passing circulated after he was admitted to the hospital, but his family members have officially confirmed that he is still alive.

Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10, 2023, as he was suffering from a common cold, which was initially thought to be Covid-19 but later diagnosed as pneumonia.
Due to the severity of his condition, he required the assistance of a ventilator for a few days before the medical practitioners decided to relocate him to Moscow.
Despite receiving medical attention, Kostomarov’s condition did not improve, and according to sources, it only worsened after he was admitted to the hospital for a severe cold.

Olympic Champion Is Still In Critical Condition: Health Update
Even though Kostomarov was moved to a specialty hospital in Moscow, his health got worse.
So, on February 6, 2023, Kostomarov had surgery to remove the dead tissue and stop more cells from dying.
During the procedure, the dead part of the tissue on one of his legs was cut out. But the affected area was bigger on the second leg, and the entire ankle had to be cut off.
After some time, his second foot also had to be cut off because of how bad the disease was.
After he had a stroke and a second brain hemorrhage that made it hard for him to see, Kostomarov was put into a coma.
The cold turned out to be pneumonia, which made his health worse. After a while, he came out of the coma, but doctors said that he hadn’t made much progress.

Roman Kostomarov: Health Condition
After his career was over, Kostomarov went back to Russia and started putting on shows there. He became well-known all over the country because he won the “Ice Age” project more than once.
Before going to the hospital, the figure skater took part in many New Year’s Eve shows. For example, he was one of the main characters in “The Wizard of Oz,” a winter fairy tale. Roman skated for the last time on January 8. He did three shows in the Moscow suburbs that were all outside. On that day, it was less than 20 degrees Celsius.
On January 10, Kostomarov was taken to the hospital. The skater was said to be sick with pneumonia. It wasn’t long before people found out that the former figure skater had a procedure called artificial blood oxygenation (ECMO) to keep him alive temporarily.
After a while, there was good news about how the skater was getting better. But on February 7, shocking news came from many different places. The news agency TASS says that Roman’s ECMO treatment caused gangrene and sepsis in Kostomarov’s foot, so it had to be cut off. Doctors are still trying to save the athlete’s hands and life, it is said.
Roman Kostomarov: Bio
Roman Kostomarov is a Russian ice dancer. He was born on February 8, 1977, in Moscow.1
He and his partner, Ekaterina Davydova, won the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in 1996. During the 1998-1999 season, he and Tatiana Navka skated with Natalia Linichuk as their coach and did well. But the team broke up, and he skated with Anna Semenovich the next year.
In 2000, coaches Alexander Zhulin and Tatiana Druchinina put him and Navka back together. Zhulin was also the husband of Navka.
Kostomarov and Navka won the European Figure Skating Championships in 2004, 2005, and 2006. They also won the World Championship in 2004 and 2005. They also won gold at the Winter Olympics in 2006, which were held in Turin, Italy.
Even though they stopped competing as amateurs after the Olympics, the pair has kept skating together in shows. Kostomarov has also been on the Russian TV show “Ice Age,” where he skated with other famous people.
In June 2004, Kostomarov got married to Julia Lautowa, an Austrian skater. They are no longer together. He has a daughter with the skater Oksana Domnina, who was born in 2011.

Kostomarov started skating when he was nine, and when he was eleven, a coach put him in ice dancing. Together with Ekaterina Davydova, he won the World Junior Championships in 1996.2
During the 1998–99 season, Kostomarov started competing with Tatiana Navka. Natalia Linichuk was their coach. In their first season together, they won the bronze medal at the Russian Championships and were sent to the World Championships, where they finished 12th.
After that, Linichuk broke up the team and put Kostomarov with Anna Semenovich. During the 1999–2000 season, he went up against Semenovich.
Kostomarov called Navka in the middle of 2000 and asked to skate with her again. Alexander Zhulin was their coach in New Jersey. In 2004 and 2005, Navka/Kostomarov won the World title. From 2004 to 2006, they also won three European titles.
Then, at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, they won gold. After the Olympics, Navka and Kostomarov stopped competing, but they still skate together in shows.
In Russian ice shows like Ice Age, Kostomarov has skated with well-known people. In 2008, Kostomarov was on the TV show Hot Ice as figure skater Viktor Molodtsov.

But the most important Olympic season got off to a bad start. Navka got hurt and couldn’t train for a month, so Kostomarov had to train by himself to stay in shape. When his partner came back, she had trouble getting back into the old training routine and didn’t have much stamina.
So, even though Kostomarov didn’t like it, they had to train more. But in the end, he had to try because the Olympics were on the line.
Navka accidentally cut her arm during a figure skating routine at the European Championships just before the Olympics. She did her routine even though she was bleeding.
After the first day of competition at the Olympics in Turin, Navka and Kostomarov were in second place. Barbara Fusar-Poli and Maurizio Margaglio of Italy were in first place.
In the Original Dance, things went much better. They took the lead because their closest competitors made a lot of mistakes and they didn’t make any. It was only 1.38 points ahead. In the Free Dance, everything had to be solved (the dancers had to skate three programs back then).

A month before he went to America, Kostomarov felt his first real emotions. Yulia Lautova, a figure skater, was chosen as the athlete. Young people talked on the phone for four years because they were sad about being apart. They only saw each other when they were at competitions or waiting for flights.
In the summer of 2004, the two people got married. There were a lot of people there, and everyone thought that this relationship would last forever.
Julia quit the big sport and moved to Roman in America. By then, the skater could already afford to live on his or her own. After a year of living together, Yulia Lautova didn’t like that her husband didn’t pay attention to her and only thought about the Olympic medal. Since feelings are no longer important, the couple broke up.
In 2001, when they were both on tour with Ilya Averbukh’s Ice Symphony, the athlete met the skater. Oksana is from Kirov, but she spent six years in Moscow. Roman was interested in this fragile, caring, and understanding girl because she was like him.
