Similarly, Dubois competed against the Rimouski Oceanic minor ice hockey team in the 2010 and 2011 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments. Following that, he was selected by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey team and went on to play for the Screaming Eagles in 2014 and 2015.

Aside from that, he was selected third overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2016 NHL Draft. He was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets on his 18th birthday. He signed a three-year contract with the Club before being traded for the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

On October 6, 2017, he scored his first NHL goal against the New York Islanders. On August 6, 2020, he scored a hat trick in a 4-3 overtime victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
