The NFL couple is fiercely private about their relationship, with only a few glimpses into their married life shared with fans. The couple married in 2020, just before the pandemic changed the course of many people’s lives.

Aboushi, like his wife, follows Islam and is one of the NFL’s few Palestinian players. Aboushi has played for eight NFL teams in his ten-year career, with the Los Angeles Rams being his current team.

Amineh Aboushi And Oday Aboushi Married At Legacy Castle

In 2020, Oday Aboushi married Amineh Aboushi at the Legacy Castle in New Jersey.

The offensive guard married his wife just before the world was shut down due to the COVID pandemic. Though he did not post the photos on his Instagram account, the NFL player did post his wedding video on YouTube.

On March 12, 2020, the YouTube channel Wedded Events posted a video showing the bride and groom walking down the aisle as well as taking to the stage to perform to their cultural music.

Legacy Castle is a well-known banquet hall known for its exorbitant pricing, with prices starting at $300 per person on prime nights. At the famous venue, hosting 1500 wedding guests can cost up to $500,000 USD.

We can tell from the video that Oday did not invite 1500 guests, as it appeared to be a small wedding with close family and friends. Nonetheless, the venue was exquisitely decorated, with floral arrangements adorning every surface.

Oday wore a navy blue tuxedo with a stark ‘white shirt and a bow tie to contrast the dominant tone of his outfit. He added a flower-shaped lapel pin and a watch to his ensemble.

Amineh’s wedding gown had long lace sleeves and a full-length veil that reached all the way to the floor. She later took the stage with her man for a short dance to the sounds of bendir drums.

The couple has kept their marriage private, with Oday only sharing a few pictures with his better half on his social media account. The Palestinian native born and raised in the United States shares a culture with his Arab partner.

College Career Of Oday Aboushi

Aboushi attended the University of Virginia and played football for the Virginia Cavaliers from 2009 to 2012.

He started 37 of the 43 games he played in during his college career. Also, he was named first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) as a senior in 2012.

Professional Life Of Oday Aboushi

Aboushi was selected by the New York Jets in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, with the 141st overall pick. On May 10, 2013, the Jets signed him to a four-year rookie contract; financial terms were not disclosed.

Aboushi was inactive for all 16 regular-season games with the Jets in 2013. He started 10 games in 2014 after the starter was injured.

In August 2015, Aboushi was suspended without pay (approximately $34,400) for the first game of the 2015 season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substance Abuse.

On September 15, 2015, Aboushi was released by the Jets, one day after his suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy ended.

On September 16, 2015, the Houston Texans claimed Aboushi off waivers.

Aboushi signed with the Seattle Seahawks on March 17, 2017. Before suffering a dislocated shoulder in Week 15, he started eight games at right guard. On December 13, 2017, he was placed on injured reserve.

Aboushi signed with the Oakland Raiders on July 28, 2018, reuniting him with his previous year’s offensive line coach, Tom Cable.

On September 1, 2018, he was freed.

Personal Life Of Oday Aboushi

Aboushi is the ninth of ten children born in Beit Hanina, a Palestinian neighbourhood in East Jerusalem, to Palestinian parents who immigrated to New York. He is the brother of Tahanie Aboushi, a civil rights lawyer and Democratic candidate for Manhattan District Attorney. Also, he is fluent in both English and Arabic.

He is a practising Muslim and one of only a few in the NFL. During Ramadan, which fell during the Virginia training camp season, he fasted from dawn to sunset on most days.

In 2011, he was one of about a dozen Muslim athletes recognised by the US Department of State for their contributions. He is one of the league’s first Palestinian players.

On July 12, 2013, the Jewish NGO the Anti-Defamation League issued a press release defending Aboushi after an article circulating online claimed he was a ‘Muslim extremist’.

The ADL defended Aboushi’s right to be proud of his Palestinian heritage, emphasising that being pro-Palestinian is not the same as being anti-Semitic or a Muslim extremist.

Family Life Of Oday Aboushi

Oday has a large family of ten children. Oday is the Aboushi family’s ninth child.

He attributes his success to his mother’s and siblings’ support and guidance, particularly his brother Aymen. Oday learned the value of responsibility and resilience while growing up in a large family of ten children, competing with his older siblings and dealing with adversity.

He remembers spending time with his siblings, such as sledding and trick-or-treating on Halloween. Aymen was a particularly influential figure in Oday’s life, acting as a father figure and nurturing his talents. To prepare for Oday’s potential draught, he even became an NFL agent.

In addition to Oday’s football success, his siblings have accomplished remarkable things. Tahanie is a civil rights attorney and Democratic candidate for Manhattan District Attorney, and Dr. Aboushi graduated from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2016.

Oday has learned to appreciate everything he has as a result of his father’s struggles and his brother’s brief NFL career.
