During her junior year of high school, May was a perfect 24-0 in the circle. She struck out 246 batters and had an earned run average of 0.32. She was also named the 2019 NorCal Softball Pitcher of the Year and the 2018-2019 California Gatorade Softball Player of the Year.

She is one of three Sooners softball freshmen from the OC Batbusters this season. Tiare Jennings and Zaida Puni, who are now on the Sooners, were both highly sought-after recruits when they played for her travel team.
