National Rail Plan 2030 Website Launched
- Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu launched Indian Railways website for National Rail Plan (NRP), 2030 on December 7, 2016.
- The Railways will be including all the ideas received during recently held Rail Vikas Shivir in the National Rail Plan.
- According to the railways, the dedicated website for National Rail Plan (NRP, 2030) (www.nationalrailplan.in) has been developed for all stakeholders to give their inputs for purposeful study as the railways’ planning cannot be done in isolation.
6th Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference Held
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani jointly inaugurated the sixth Heart of Asia Ministerial Conference in Amritsar on December 4, 2016.
- The conference will discuss peace, cooperation and economic development in Afghanistan.
- The theme for this year’s conference is Addressing Challenges, Achieving Prosperity.
- Heart of Asia process was launched in 2011 from Istanbul. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the event in Amritsar.
