Despite having the same same name, ice hockey goaltenders Michael DiPietro and Rick DiPietro are not related to each other in any way.

In Windsor, Canada, Michael was born to his cherished father, Vic DiPietro, and his mother, Rebecca, who passed away when he was only five years old. Michael’s mother passed away when he was only five years old.
The athlete spent his early years living exclusively with his father until the senior DiPietro met the woman who would become the athlete’s stepmother, Assunta Fenty-DiPietro. Assunta had previously been a widow when she met the man who would become her husband.
Vic’s father has always been there for him and has instilled in him the values of being a decent person and making the best of every situation. Both the father and the son get inspiration from their relationship with one another as best friends.
DiPietro also mentioned that he was a big youngster, and that she helped him become skinnier by introducing him to the salad. In the same vein, his stepmom, whom he considers his mom, also loves him.

Michael Dipietro Has A Brother
DiPietro is the sole child of Vic and Rebecca, but because to his father’s second marriage, he also has a stepbrother named Mark Fenty who is older by six years than he is.
Mark, who also competed in Division III of college hockey, was the motivation for the athlete to change positions and become a goaltender. After observing his brother make a save on a breakaway, he became enamoured with the position. He was fascinated by the notion that a single save might completely change the outcome of the game.
In spite of this, Fenty never returned to the sport on a professional level and instead established a career as an architectural engineer in Kansas City. Michael, in contrast to him, decided that goaltending would be his occupation both now and in the future.
Michael Dipietro Career: From Playing Minor Hockey To NHL
Michael is a prospect for the Bruins of the National Hockey League, and he currently plays with the Providence Bruins of that league.
The sportsman got his start in youth hockey at a young age and has since progressed all the way to the professional level. In the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected 64th overall by the Vancouver Canucks. Prior to that, he was a member of the Minor Midget AAA squad that was fielded by the Sun County Panthers.
In addition to that, on the 31st of May in 2018, he put his name on an entry-level deal with the Canucks that was for three years. Later on the 5th of February 2019, an injury to Thatcher Demko resulted in him receiving an emergency call-up to the National Hockey League.
As a result, DiPietro made his debut in the National Hockey League on February 11, 2019, against the San Jose Sharks. He stopped 17 of the 24 shots that were directed at him. He made his debut for the Canucks when he was 19 years and 247 days old, making him the second youngest goaltender in the franchise’s history behind only Troy Gamble, who made his debut when he was 19 years and 229 days old.
In addition to that, during his first season in the net, the goaltender was awarded the F. W. “Dinty” Moore Trophy. In a similar fashion, he won the Memorial Cup with the Spitfires during his sophomore year; in order to commemorate the achievement, the team all got matching tattoos.

Michael Dipietro Was A Defenseman Before He Became A Goaltender
DiPietro began his career as an ice hockey player as a defenseman; however, when he was nine years old, he made the transition to goaltender after obtaining motivation from his stepbrother.
It is extremely wonderful that the athlete made the decision to become a goalie during his pre-teen years because he became attracted with the idea that a goalie can prevent the team from blocking the goal and assist them win.
As a result of growing up with his father as a single parent for three years before his father remarried his now-mother Assunta and Michael met his older brother Mark, Michael has always been more mature than other children his age. Both families were affected by a terrible event, but they came together as a result of it, overcome the difficulties of the past, and are now living happily ever after.
