Max Domi Mother: Leanne Domi Is Blessed To Have A Son Like Him
Despite living thousands of miles apart, Max Domi and his mother, Leanne Domi, speak on a daily basis. His mother has re-established herself and now lives in Toronto’s downtown core.
Domi’s parents divorced while he was a child. Even though her well-known son, a professional ice hockey player, lives 688 kilometres (427 miles) southwest of her house in Toronto and earns a million dollars playing hockey for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, being a mother is never enough.
Leanne continues to check on him to see how he is doing. Max is doing well in terms of managing his type 1 diabetes, which he has battled periodically for more than half of his life.
Nonetheless, she is his staunchest supporter and is constantly reminding him to take his insulin or blood pressure pills. She never tyres of carrying out her mother’s responsibilities by caring for her kid.

Leanne is a mother of three children who is currently living her best life in Toronto with her boyfriend. She’s also active on social media, including Twitter @leannedomi and Instagram @leanne domi, but we can’t see her Instagram posts because they’re private.

Maxwell Johannes Domi was born in Winnipeg, Canada on March 2, 1995 (age 27). Tie Domi and Leanne Domi are his parents. Carlin Domi is his brother, and his father is a former ice hockey player. Max was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but grew up in Toronto, Ontario, where his father, Tie Domi, played for the original Winnipeg Jets. Domi’s favourite team as a kid was the Toronto Maple Leafs, thanks in part to his father’s many seasons with the franchise.
Domi is of Albanian heritage; his paternal ancestors moved to Canada amid Albania’s wars and turmoil. However, Max Domi was selected by the Kingston Frontenacs with the eighth choice in the 2011 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draught but was then transferred to the London Knights for three second-round draught picks.
On September 23, 2011, he scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Knights to an 8-0 victory over the Saginaw Spirit in his OHL debut. During the 2011-12 season, he helped Team Ontario win a bronze medal at the 2012 World U-17 Hockey Challenge and helped the Knights win the OHL Championship. Domi was regarded as a high prospect who was expected to be drafted in the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
During the 2012-13 season, Max Domi was a member of Team Canada that won gold at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. He was also invited to the 2013 CHL Top Prospects Game and helped his London Knights team to their second consecutive OHL championship. He was also a member of Canada’s World Junior Ice Hockey Championship-winning squad in 2015, where he was voted the tournament’s Best Forward and made the All-Star Team.
Professional life
The Phoenix Coyotes selected Max Domi 12th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Tie had previously played for the team when it was known as the Winnipeg Jets (the team would move to Phoenix in 1996). Domi signed a three-year entry-level deal with Phoenix on July 14, 2013.
Don Maloney, general manager of the Arizona Coyotes, verified fan speculation by stating that he acquired prospect Anthony Duclair from the New York Rangers in the hopes of developing line chemistry with Max Domi. This was owing to the fact that both Duclair and Domi displayed evident chemistry and were essential components in bringing Team Canada to gold at the 2015 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship.
Max Domi formed an instant line synergy with Duclair in his rookie NHL season, garnering the duo the moniker “The Killer D’s.” Domi made his NHL debut on October 9, 2015, against Jonathan Quick, and recorded his first career assist and goal.
Domi scored his first NHL hat trick against the Edmonton Oilers on January 12, 2016. Two of his goals came on the power play, and all three were assisted by defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
