Again, coached by his father, the team also included Ben Thomson from Coaldale Copperheads.
According to his father, playing early with a professional squad allows you to get to know the automatics in the locker room.
You pick up a lot from the way a coach and players communicate in between.

Leon then made a huge step when he joined the Western Hockey League’s Prince Albert Raiders at the age of seventeen.
He was waived and assigned to the Kelowna Rockets for the 2015 World Junior Championships, where he contributed to his team’s title victory.
Not only that, but he was named MVP after competing in 19 games and scoring 28 points. In 2015, Leon won the Stafford Smythe Trophy as Memorial Cup MVP.
The Rockets, however, were unable to compete in the 2015 Memorial Cup.

The Edmonton Oilers selected him third overall in the 2014 NHL Draft. Leon, on the other hand, made an early leap to the NHL, putting him ahead of his age.
He abruptly assumed the form of a man. His father stated unequivocally, “He had to become a man sooner rather than later.”
