On May 16, 1972, Khary Payton was born in Augusta, Georgia, USA, which is located in the United States of America. When Khary was younger, he always had a strong interest in the performing arts, even back then.
When he was a young adult still in high school, he began his career as an actor and comedian, playing both of these roles publicly.
Following his graduation from high school, he applied to and was accepted into the University of Dallas in Texas.
While he was there, he quickly became a member of the school’s theater club, through which he was given the opportunity to participate in a number of productions at the Dallas Theater Center.
His career as an actor began in the middle of the 1990s when he was cast in a supporting role in an episode of the television series Street Shark.

He attended Mercer University after receiving his diploma from high school and majored in Chemistry there. After receiving his degree from Mercer University in 1971, he attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, where he graduated in 1975 with a primary concentration on pediatrics and emergency medicine.
Prior to enlisting in the United States Army, Victor completed his residency in pediatrics at the Tripler Army Medical Center after graduating from medical school.
In addition to his role as a captain in the army, he served for three years in the General Medical area and was honored with the Medal of Commendation during that time.
The American Board of Pediatrics has granted Dr. Victor board certification in the specialty of pediatrics. After gaining experience in emergency medicine over the course of several years, he and his spouse made the decision to make their home in Athens, Georgia, and he began working in that city’s emergency room shortly thereafter.
In addition to this, he was working as a Medical Director at Rivers Crossing during this period. Rivers Crossing was a facility that offered specialized care to disadvantaged children.
In 1982, Dr. Payton established his own private practice in Athens, Georgia, making him the first African American pediatrician to do so.
During the course of his career spanning 40 years, he held positions in both private and public hospitals. In Athens, he was the leader of a charitable organization called BrightPaths of Athens, which offered assistance to low-income families. He served as the group’s president.
Dr. Payton started working for the Reddy Medical Group in Georgia during the summer of 2019 and was quickly recognized for his contributions there.
In addition to being a well-known physician, Victor was an enthusiastic participant in both tennis and swimming.

His mother, Gwendolyn M. Payton, is an accomplished artist in her own right. Her husband is also a graduate of the university she attended.
