Mazzulla went to high school in Rhode Island, where he was an all-state player on the first team. He won three state titles at Bishop Hendricken, the last one on a last-second shot as a senior.
Mazzulla was a freshman on the West Virginia team when they won the National Invitation Tournament in 2007. John Beilein was the team’s coach. In the second round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament, Mazzulla beat Duke.1
