Crowley was a member of the club’s under-18s team, which won the Munster Under-18 Cup and the All-Ireland Under-18 Cup, with Crowley scoring 15 points in the latter’s 20-7 win over Skerries.
He attended Bandon Grammar School and played three years of senior rugby with the school, first as a scrum-half before moving to fly-half, and helped lead the school to the Munster Schools Senior Cup semi-final stage for the first time in 2017, as well as a second semi-final in 2019, though Presentation Brothers College defeated them both times.
