2019
Roby declared for the 2019 NBA Draft without hiring an agent on March 30, 2019.
The Detroit Pistons drafted him 45th and traded him to the Dallas Mavericks. Roby officially signed with the Mavericks on August 7, 2019. For the start of the NBA G League season, the Mavericks assigned him to the Texas Legends. He had plantar fasciitis, which caused him to miss several Legends games.
