Educational Qualification for the IGCAR Exam
Technical Officer
DISCIPLINE QUALIFICATIONS
Civil B.E./B.tech with min. 60% marks
Architecture B.Arch with min. 60% marks
Safety B.E./M.E. in Safety Engineering
Or
B.E. in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by Central/State Government
The Age limit for applying for this post is 26 years.
Scientific Assistant
DISCIPLINE QUALIFICATIONS
Civil ● Diploma in Civil Engineering with min 60% marks
Min. 4 years’ experience in supervision of building construction activities.
Architecture ● Diploma in Architecture with 60% marks.
Min. 4 years experience in preparation of architectural drawings and designing using CAD in design offices.
Safety
Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical Engineering with minimum of 60% marks. OR
B. Sc. (Physics/Chemistry) with min 60% marks.
One year diploma/certificate in Industrial Safety
Min. 4 years experience in Industrial safety.
The age limit for applying for this post is 30 years.

Stipend Trainee Category-I
DISCIPLINE QUALIFICATIONS
Physics BSC in Physics with minimum of 60% marks.
Chemistry BSC in Chemistry with minimum of 60% marks.
Mechanical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 60% marks
Electrical Diploma in Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering with minimum of 60% marks.
Electronics Diploma in Electronics/ Electronics and Communication Engineering with minimum of 60% marks.
Instrumental Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering with minimum of 60% marks.
Chemical Diploma in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology with minimum of 60% marks.
Age limit for applying for this post is 24 years
Other positions-
Stipend Trainee Category -II – 12th Pass with Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics with 60% marks. Age limit for applying is 22 years
Stenographer Grade III – Matriculation and minimum typing speed of 80 wpm. Age limit for applying is 28 years
Upper Division Clerk (UDC) – Graduation Degree from a recognized Institute/University and must possess 30 wpm typing speed in English. Age limit for applying is 25 years
Technician – 10th pass with Mathematics and Science with 60% marks OR 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60% marks OR ITI in relevant trade. Age limit for applying is 27 years.
IGCAR Selection Procedure
Every position has it’s own selection process
● Technical Officer : To get this post, candidates will have to go through a written examination and personal interview.
● Scientific Assistant & Stipendiary Trainee Category- I : The candidate will have to go through written examination and personal interview
● Technician C/Stipendiary Trainee Category II : The selection process will take place in three stages; Primary Test, Advance Test and Skill Test.
● Upper Division Clerk (UDC) : Candidates will have to take a written exam consisting of objective and descriptive type questions
● Stenographer : Candidates have to pass a written exam and stenography skill test.
