Hakeem made first efforts to urge his son to participate in basketball activities. They would transform a basketball into a soccer ball whenever Hakeem left Abdullah with one.

In an interview with VYPE, Hakeem revealed that he made a pact with his son that if he tried basketball, he’d forget about soccer. He then accepted Abdullah into a soccer and basketball club.

Three months later, Hakeem noticed Abdullah’s enthusiasm for basketball and began playing several games himself.

When the Olajuwon family first migrated to the United Kingdom, Abdullah expressed an interest in soccer games. He didn’t mind playing it because he had done it before.

When Adbullah started playing basketball, he discovered his actual interest. Then he and his family relocated to the United States in search of a better basketball career.

His Children Followed Him Into The Athletic Career
