Gotabaya Rajapaksa Children: Daughter And Son Details

The 73-year-old political leader was born on June 20, 1949. He is married to Ioma Rajapaksa, who is the first lady of Sri Lanka. They have a son. His name is Manoj Rajapaksa.

But it is not known for sure if Gotabaya has a daughter or not. The Wikipedia page about him doesn’t say anything about his kids either. Gotabaya Rajapaksa runs away to the Maldives when he hears that a riot is coming toward the president’s house.

After breaking through the gates of the presidential palace, hundreds of people walked into its rooms, and some of the rowdy crowd jumped into the pool on the grounds. The video quickly spread all over the internet.

Also, he hasn’t talked to his wife or kids in a long time, and no sign of them has been found anywhere in the country. So, it’s possible they also left the country or went into hiding.

Manoj Rajapaksa has an engineering degree from a well-known school, but the internet doesn’t have any information about his wife, who is also the first lady.

Where Is Mahinda Rajapaksa Now?

Gotabaya’s brother, Mahinda Rajapaksa, a former President who was kicked out of his job as Prime Minister on May 9, hasn’t said anything either.

The economic crisis that left many Sri Lankans without food and other necessities will end the rule of the Rajapaksa family.

The Indian Express says, “Mahinda, Gotabaya, and the others are all part of a stubborn political dynasty that may be South Asia’s biggest and most blatantly based on family ties.”

Mahinda Rajapaksa’s rise to fame began in 2004 when Chandrika Kumaratunga Bandaranaike, who was president at the time, made him Prime Minister. She later said that this was her worst decision.

In 2005, he was elected president and decided to fight The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in the north and east with everything he had. Mahinda put his brother Gotabaya in charge of the Defense Ministry.

But Mahinda’s rise was stopped in 2015 when he lost his third election for president. When he was in charge, he was a very cruel leader.
