With the Mountaineers trailing in-state rival Marshall 21-6 in the fourth quarter, Smith led his team to a comeback victory. Smith led the Mountaineers’ first drive from the 4-yard line. The Mountaineers cut Marshall’s lead to 8 points thanks to senior running back Noel Devine.
