Ikard went to Bishop McGuinness High School in Oklahoma City. In 2008, he totaled 29 receptions for 542 yards and nine touchdowns as a tight end, as well as 68 tackles, two interceptions, six sacks, and one defensive touchdown. He was voted Defensive Player of the Year for District 4A-1, as well as The Oklahoman Little All-City Defensive Player of the Year.
