The new television series Class has been gaining interest ever since it was first announced.

Users on the internet were curious as to whether or not the series would be converted successfully to the new medium.

Class (Netflix): Is Hampton International School Real?

In contrast to what is shown in the show “Class,” there is no such institution as the Hampton International School in the city of Delhi.

There is a nursery and kindergarten school called Hampton International in Pak Kret, Thailand; however, this particular location is owned and operated by a family.

In the television show “Elite,” the pupils go to Las Encinas, which is also a fictional high school.

One of the directors of the Indian series, Ashim Ahluwalia, recently gave an interview in which he discussed the reasoning behind the decision to situate the tale in Delhi as opposed to any other location in India, including Mumbai, the financial capital of the country.

When Ahluwalia was a teenager living in South Mumbai, he did not go to a super-exclusive school like Hampton International or Las Encinas.

Nevertheless, he was a witness to the class conflict that is depicted candidly in ‘Class,’ and this experience was a factor in his decision to be involved in this project.

One of the most compelling arguments raised against adaptations such as this one is that they have a tendency to make the Indian audience feel as though they cannot relate to the material.

It is an accusation that is frequently leveled against the content that Netflix India creates. Ahluwalia pointed out the unfairness of such observations by pointing out that what Bollywood does in general is create a universe that is more fantasy than genuine.

According to him, the obscene amount of money that was portrayed on the show is something that can be found in the real world. Simply said, it has never been demonstrated like this on screen before.

Class (Netflix): Netizens Reactions

Many individuals had great expectations for the series; nevertheless, many did not think that it would be of the same high quality as the first installment.

After watching the episode of Class, they shared their reactions on Twitter. The series takes aim at the luxurious Hamptons International school, which acts as a safe haven for the vicious and tyrannical plots of Delhi’s upper class.

The representation of the income gap was deemed disrespectful by a significant number of users, who asserted that the show was “caught up” on the concept of the “caste system,” despite the fact that such a thing does not exist in the modern era.

People also said that the depiction of the school was “unrealistic,” which was another criticism leveled against it.

In spite of the fact that some people have said that it is a “rip off” of Elite in a reasonably close way, the school does not live up to the expectations of a supposedly elite school in Delhi.

Class (Netflix): Reviews

Caste and class are topics that are almost always discussed in hushed tones behind closed doors in the privacy of one’s own home, and the authors of “Class” struck the nail on the head by beginning with this sensitive subject matter.

The name of the show is a pun on not just the classroom in a school but also the reality that class-based discrimination in our society is apparent and blunt, an open secret that no one wants to talk about.

The name of the show is a wordplay on both of these concepts. It all starts with them passing on their knowledge to their children, and then it becomes second nature to them very quickly.

Through the perspective of Dheeraj, who at the beginning of the story does not believe in caste discussion, “Class” tackles all of these topics and a great deal more head-on.

“Big Little Lies” served as a source of inspiration for the shot of the interrogation scenes that appear in between the story. On the other hand, this kind of filmmaking heightens the sense of mystery and makes the narrative more ominous.

The writers Rajesh Devraj, Bhaskar Hazarika, Raghav Kakkar, Kashyap Kapoor, and Kersi Khambatta do not shy away from talking about hard themes in the most matter-of-fact way possible.

The cast is brilliantly cast, and the performances are fantastic. The pilot of “Class” has been extremely successful thus far. Looking forward to a more intense viewing.

Class (Netflix): Filming Locations Explored!

As a result of the pandemic, the majority of the show was ultimately shot on sound stages in Mumbai. However, Ahluwalia claims that in addition to this, he was granted access to some of the real residences of Delhi’s elite in order to film there.

“The reason I wanted to place it in Delhi is because the socioeconomic difference is simply so vast there, and it’s extremely different from Mumbai in that it’s geographically detached from there. “

In Mumbai, it can feel like everyone is constantly brushing up against one another. I attended to a posh school, but it wasn’t even close to being as good as some of these elite schools in Delhi, where the students arrive at school accompanied by bodyguards.

Class (Netflix): Similarities With ELITE

Class, a new series on Netflix, has a similar storyline to Elite but is set in Delhi, India instead of Los Angeles. This engaging movie follows three pupils, Dheeraj, Saba, and Balli, who have just gotten into Hampton International School.

These students come from a low-income neighborhood. It doesn’t take all that much time before delicious rumors and secrets result in someone’s death.

It stars Gurfateh Pirzada, Anjali Sivaraman, Ayesha Kanga, Chayan Chopra, Chintan Rachchh, Cwaayal Singh, Madhyama Segal, Moses Koul, Naina Bhan, Piyush Khati and Zeyn Shaw.

Fans should be prepared for a new installment that features a variety of different cultural elements.

The difficulties associated with adapting such a successful program were acknowledged by the director, Ashim Ahluwalia.

In a press release, he stated that “it was quite a chore to adapt a program that has had huge love globally,” particularly because he wanted to rewrite the cinematic language of the show and situate it in New Delhi. “It was quite a challenge to adapt a play that has had enormous love globally,”

“I wanted to create something that was both genuine and dramatic, something that captured the heightened feelings that come with being a teenager. I also wanted to investigate the concept of class, which is present in our everyday lives but is rarely shown in a genuine manner on screen.

Class, a coming-of-age thriller produced by Netflix and based on the internationally successful Spanish television series Elite, is not to be missed.

Ashim continued to express his gratitude to Netflix for believing in his ability to direct this remake and supporting his creative vision.

“We were blessed with a team that worked diligently and an extraordinary, young ensemble that was nearly entirely comprised of new finds that were really incredible to watch on screen. I believe it’s fair to say that this is a series that has never been seen anywhere else in India before, and that’s saying a lot.

Netflix in the United States makes it possible for users to view both Elite and Class.
