Bryan Harsin’s Wife: Who Is Kes Harsin? Net Worth, Salary And Buyout Terms

As a result of Auburn’s decision to fire football coach Bryan Harsin on Monday, less than two years after taking over the program, questions are being raised about his wages and net worth.

It was just a few days before the school selected John Cohen, the former athletic director of Mississippi State, as its new athletic director that the decision to hire him was made.

He led the Boise State University Broncos to a record of 64-17 during his four years as head coach of the team from 2014 to 2020. He then accepted the position of head coach of the Auburn Tigers.

When he arrived at Arkansas State University in 2013, he was given the position of head coach there. Harsin was the co-offensive coordinator at the University of Texas for two seasons, and during that time, he was responsible for a substantial amount of the offensive team’s development.

Before moving to Texas in 2011, Harsin was an assistant coach at Boise State for 10 years, serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the final five of those seasons. Harsin left Boise State for Texas in 2011.

Bryan Harsin Impressive Net Worth Amid His Coaching Career

Based on his coaching career and the compensation he has gotten as a coach throughout the course of his career, it is estimated that Bryan Harsin has a net worth and overall earnings of around $10 million.

Arkansas State committed to paying Harsin $6.5 million over the course of his five-year contract. His starting compensation was $1 million per year for the first two years of his employment, and then it increased to $1.3 million, $1.55 million, and $1.65 million in the third, fourth, and fifth years, respectively.

Harsin worked at Boise State from 2001 through 2010 and was the offensive coordinator for the Broncos from 2006 until 2010. Before moving to Texas three years ago, Harsin was the offensive coordinator for the Broncos.

After holding the position of co-offensive coordinator at Texas, he went on to become the head coach of Arkansas State, succeeding Gus Malzahn, who is now the head coach at Auburn.

According to an article published by ESPN, his five-year contract with Arkansas State had a buyout clause for $1.75 million if he departed the school within the first year of the term.

Auburn Coach Salary: How Much Did Bryan Harsin Earn?

ESPN reports that Bryan Harsin, the head football coach at Auburn University, recently signed a six-year contract with the school that will pay him an average annual compensation of $5.25 million.

After completing his transfer from Boise State to Auburn in December 2020, Harsin signed a contract extension that will remain in effect through December 31, 2026. His salary started out at $5 million, and it went up by $100,000 on the first of every contract year after that.

In a similar vein, his pay plan consists of a reward of $100,000 for taking first place in the SEC West Division and a reward of $250,000 for taking first place in the SEC Championship.

If he had not been fired, he would have received the following payouts: $200,000 for each trip to the New Year’s Six Bowl, $300,000 for making it to the College Football Playoff, $400,000 for making it to the national title game, and $800,000 for winning the title.

Harsin would owe Auburn $7,000,000 in the first year, $5,000,000 in the second year, and $3,000,000 in the third year if he left Auburn before the end of the deal. This would be the case if he left Auburn before the end of the deal.

After that, during the fourth and fifth years of the agreement, his buyout is decreased by one million dollars during each of those years.

Coach Bryan Harsin To Receive $15M Buyout Terms

On October 31, 2018, with four regular-season games still to play in the second year of the program, Auburn parted ways with head coach Bryan Harsin. His unsatisfactory and unpleasant time spent on The Plains came to an end as a result of this.

After Gus Malzahn’s retirement at the end of the 2020 season, Harsin will take over as head coach and will finish with a record of 9-12 (4-9 in the SEC) in less than two full seasons.

In accordance with the stipulations of his agreement, Bryan will be entitled to a buyout payment of $15.5 million, of which 50% is due within 30 days and the remaining 50% is due over the course of four instalments.

After eight seasons with a record of 68-34, Gus Malzahn was let go from his position as head coach at Auburn University two years ago after the institution agreed to pay a buyout of $21.7 million.

His employment was in jeopardy in February, when the university began an investigation investigating his team management. At the time, Auburn had just finished a season in which they went 6-7. After the offseason departure of a significant number of players and coaches, the organization decided to open an investigation into the matter.

Harsin Earned $1.85 Million At Boise State In 2020

As the head coach of Boise State University in 2020, ESPN reports that Harsin received salary of $1.85 million.

In the end, he was given the position of tight ends coach at Boise State University in 2002, and he remained in that role until 2005. During this time period, the Broncos finished in the top 10 in scoring for all four years and were number one in the nation on two separate occasions.

After Hawkins moved from BSU to Colorado, Chris Petersen, who had been serving as the offensive coordinator, was promoted to the position of head coach for the 2006 season.

After the conclusion of the 2010 campaign, Harsin accepted a position as head coach at the University of Texas at Austin for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. However, on December 11, 2013, he accepted the position at Boise State.

His mentor Petersen had moved on to continue his education at the University of Washington in Seattle, so he took over in his place. In his first season as head coach, he led his team to the Mountain West Championship by guiding them to a victory over Fresno State by a score of 28-14. This victory earned them a spot in the Fiesta Bowl versus Arizona.
