Brandt Clarke (born February 9, 2003) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman for the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings (NHL).
The Kings selected him eighth overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Graeme Clarke, Brandt Clarke’s brother, plays ice hockey for the Utica Comets. McKenzie Clarke, Brandt’s sister, also exists.
Brandt was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2021 with his entire family.
He was drafted as a defenseman in the OHL Priority Selection in 2019 to play major junior hockey. He was also named Barrie Colts captain for the 2021-22 season.

Who Is Graeme Clarke? Meet Brandt Clarke Older Brother
During an NHLPA interview, Brandt Clarke credited his ice hockey career to his elder brother Graeme.
They continue to appear together on social media and try to attend each other’s matches.
Furthermore, the Clarkes are expected to practise behind the camera together and teach each other tricks and tips to improve their gameplay.
Brandt also recalls playing ice skates or ping-pong at their house. So the athlete used two of them to create a competitive environment.
Graeme Clarke (Brandt Clarke Older Brother) Is A 2019 NHL Draftee
Graeme was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the third round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
He serves as the team’s right winger. He was born on April 24, 2001, and is Brandt’s elder sibling.
Clarke spent the 2016-17 season with the Markham Royals of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Also, he played for the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL from 2017 to 2019-20. He joined the AHL and played for the Binghamton Devils later in the 2020-21 season.
He is currently under contract with the Utica Comets for the upcoming season.
During the pandemic, Graeme and Brandt made the decision to travel to Europe. They played for the Slovakian club HC Nove Zamky there. It was the first time they had both worn the same jersey.
Playing Career Of Brandt Clarke
Clarke was drafted in the first round, fourth overall, in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection on April 6, 2019, marking the end of his minor hockey career. He will play major junior hockey with the Barrie Colts.
Also, Clarke led all rookie OHL defensemen in scoring six goals and 32 assists as a rookie for the Barrie Colts in what turned out to be the COVID-19-shortened 2019-20 season, and he was considered a lock to go in the first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Clarke was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team by the OHL’s General Managers at the end of the 2019-20 season.
And, Clarke was able to continue his development the following season (2020-21), when the entire OHL regular season was cancelled due to COVID-19, by playing professional men’s hockey in Slovakia, on loan to HC Nové Zámky of the Tipsport Liga, scoring five goals and ten assists in a partial season of only 26 games.
Clarke, the NHL’s second-youngest defenseman during the 2022-23 season, billets at the home of Jonathan Quick, the Kings’ goaltender and oldest player this season, when in Los Angeles.
He is a high-quality defensive player with excellent defensive stick control and tactical positioning; however, he is a new-era defenseman best known for his offensive abilities and eagerness and creativity when breaking out of the defensive zone and actively participating in the offensive zone.

International Play Of Brandt Clarke
Clarke won gold for Team Canada at the IIHF World U18 Championships in 2021, averaging a point per game. From April 26 to May 6, 2021, the tournament was held in Frisco, Texas, USA. Clarke was named to the tournament’s media-selected All-Star team.
Clarke was chosen to attend Hockey Canada’s National Junior Team Summer Camp (held in Calgary, Alberta from July 23-27, 2022) in preparation for the 2022-23 National Junior Team, which will compete in the 2023 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, which will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada from December 26, 2022 to January 5, 2023.
The Los Angeles Kings loaned Clarke to Canada’s world junior hockey team ahead of its Selection Camp for the 2023 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships on December 7, 2022.
