Brad Underwood Son Tyler Underwood Is The Oldest Among His Kids
Tyler Underwood, a basketball player, was born on August 23, 1996, and is the family’s eldest child.
Tyler played four seasons for the Fighting Illini before becoming the head of recruitment and scouting at Illinois.
He graduated from Oklahoma State University’s Business Administration and Management general course in 2017.
Underwood then pursued undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. In 2019, he received a bachelor’s degree in sociology, and in 2020, he received a master’s degree in recreation, sport, and tourism.

Ashley Underwood is Brad’s third child, born on November 2, 2001, making her the family’s youngest member.

Her sister just shared a photo of her family vacationing in Alys Beach. The age difference between the sisters is barely one year. The three siblings have a deep bond.
Brad And Susan Underwood Has Been Married For Over 35 Years
Susan Underwood, Brad Underwood’s wife, has a teaching degree and formerly worked as a JC Penny cashier.
They’ve been married for 35 years, having exchanged wedding vows in 1987. Brad Underwood met his future wife, Susan, in college. They married soon after he graduated.
Susan had a teaching degree, but she didn’t have a teaching licence in Texas, where they moved after Brad lost his job. Susan supported her family by working as a cashier.
Brad eventually settled down at Western Illinois University in 1992 and worked as an assistant coach there for 11 years. Susan had their three children while working as an elementary school teacher at the time.
Basketball Profession
While attending Hardin-Simmons University, Underwood began his career as a basketball goaltender. After his freshman year at Hardin, he transferred to Independence Community College. In his sophomore year, he averaged 17 points per game and helped the team reach the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship finals.
In his sophomore year, Underwood chose to attend a recruiting visit at Oklahoma State University. Bill Self, one of the NBA’s top players at the time, was his host in Oklahoma. However, in his final year, he transferred to Kansas State University. He was mostly directed by then-head coach Jack Hartman.

Coaching Profession
Underwood began working as an assistant coach during the 1986-87 basketball season while pursuing his master’s degree at Hardin-Simmons University. In 1988, he was named head coach at Dodge City Community College. After coaching there until 1993, he went to work as an assistant coach for then-head coach Jim Kerwin at Western Illinois University.
After 10 seasons in Illinois, he transferred to Daytona Beach Community College in 2003. He twice won the conference’s Coach of the Year award during his tenure from 2003 to 2006. In 2006, he joined the State of Kansas as an assistant to Bob Huggins and Frank Martin. In 2012, Underwood was hired as an associate head coach at South Carolina.
On April 30, 2013, he was named head coach of the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. Stephen F. Austin was 18-0 in his first season and won the Southland Conference regular season championship. Underwood was also named Southland Coach of the Year for his efforts. With this accomplishment, the Loggers earned a spot in the 2014 NCAA Division I basketball tournament.
They did, however, lose to UCLA in the main round after defeating the VCU Rams. In his third season, Underwood advanced to the Southland Conference tournament once more. He also qualified for the NCAA tournament for the second time. He dominated the West Virginia Mountaineers, who were coached by his previous head coach, Bob Huggins.

Underwood has been to the Southland Tournament three times in his coaching career so far. In addition, he also helped his team win the Southland regular season championship three times in a row from 2014 to 2016. However, he also has personal accolades which are as follows.
