Bob Stoops: Career
Bob Stoops began working at the University of Iowa as a graduate assistant in 1985. So, in 1987, they hired him as their assistant coach. After two years with the Sooners, he moved to Kent State. He only worked for the team for one season.2
He was also hired by Kansas State University in 1989 to be their new defensive coordinator. In 1996, it was said that he would be the new defensive coordinator at the University of Florida.
Later, in 1999, he hired Bob as the University of Oklahoma’s new head coach. In 2000, he led his team to both the Big 12 Conference title and the National Championship title. He also led his team to the South Division of the Big 12 Conference.
