Lowry was the Eastern Conference nominee for the Daryl K. (Doc) Seaman Trophy for the second consecutive season; however, he was unable to defend his championship from the previous season, losing it to Colin Smith of the Kamloops Blazers. Lowry was ranked 58th among North American skaters by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau following his season with the Broncos, an increase from his placement of 62nd during the midway point of the season. The Winnipeg Jets selected Lowry in the third round, 67th overall, on June 25, 2011.

Lowry signed an amateur tryout deal with the St. John’s IceCaps on April 4, 2013. Lowry spent the 2013-14 AHL season with the IceCaps. For the 2014-15 NHL season, Lowry was promoted to the Winnipeg Jets.
