To be eligible for the MPPSC Deputy Collector and DSP the candidate must have attained a minimum age of 18 and should be within the maximum age limit of 28. The candidate should be graduate in any discipline from a centrally recognized university. Candidates from reserved categories enjoy some additional relaxations on age limits.

The candidates will go though several rounds of examinations before the final selection. Their will be a preliminary examination, mains examination and personal Interview. The MPPSC Preliminary examination will have two papers, general studies and general aptitude test. The General Studies paper will be of 150 marks and General Aptitude Test will be of 300 marks.
The Mains examination will have various papers depending on the optional paper subject chosen by the applicant. The Paper I and II will be of General Studies, Paper III of General Hindi, Paper IV and V of any one optional subject, Paper VI and VII will be of another optional subject. Each paper of mains examination will be of 300 marks and have a time duration of 3 hours.
