International Conference on khadi organizes by MS University
The Maharaja Sayajirao University organized the two-day international conference in union with Consortium of Green Fashion under the theme ‘Empowering Khadi and Handlooms through Design Intervention’. The meeting would be started on September 30 and would eventfully conclude on the next day. Several specialists from the field of textile and textile designing would conduct the workshop for the students. The second day of the seminar would witness lectures on initiatives in socio-economic sustainability from the government and non-government agencies. An oration on the success stories of design and branding of khadi and handlooms would also be presented.

Appeal by state government: PPSC wants CSAT to be only qualifying exam for civil services
The state government by putting forward a plead for making CSAT as the only qualifying examination for Punjab Civil Services Examination. Apart from this, the commission has also recommended limitless attempts for the candidates but wants upper age limit reduced from 37 to 35. The PCS exam is conducted to shortlist eligible and qualified candidates in several state government agencies and departments.  If the government approves the same, the Punjab State Civil Services Rules, 2009 will be required to be revised and the candidates will then be required to score 33 percent marks in prelims. States like Haryana and Himachal Pradesh have before made CSAT a qualifying paper in their civic services exams, whereas Punjab is yet to do the same.
