The attack resulted in the death of the man, who was 81 years old, and the severe injury of his wife, who was 74 years old. The man who owns the dogs has been taken into custody, and he is being charged with two felonies.

Two Staffordshire Terriers Attacked Elderly Couple
San Antonio police have arrested Christian Alexander Moreno, aged 31, in connection with a vicious dog attack that left a 74-year-old woman critically injured.
According to a statement on Facebook by the San Antonio Police Department, Moreno faces serious felony charges of attack by a dangerous dog, causing death and injury to an elderly person. It remains unclear if Moreno has retained a lawyer.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in critical condition, according to San Antonio Fire Chief, Charles Hood. Hood stated that the attack was still in progress when a fire crew arrived at the scene in response to a dog bite call.
As they arrived, they witnessed a man being dragged by a dog, with the victim already covered in blood.
San Antonio Animal Care Services reported that the dogs involved in the attack were American Staffordshire terriers, a breed that falls under the broader classification of pit bulls.
“There were two that we know for a fact that were involved with the attack. There was a third animal from the same location that was free of restraint,” Animal Care Services Director Shannon Sims said.
Hood reported that emergency responders had to fight off the aggressive dogs with pickaxes while attempting to help the victims. One fire captain received a minor leg bite during the altercation.
Animal Care Services confirmed that all three dogs involved in the attack were in their custody and scheduled to be euthanized on Friday night.

Police Investigation
