Pervez Musharraf, a former military ruler of Pakistan who passed away on Sunday in Dubai following a protracted illness, was known as General (ret.) Pervez Musharraf.
According to his family, the 79-year-old man who was the architect of the Kargil War in 1999 was suffering from a rare disease called amyloidosis.
This condition is caused by a buildup of an abnormal protein called amyloid in organs and tissues throughout the body.
PTI reported that his family said he was suffering from this condition.

Pervez Musharraf Died Due To Amyloidosis
Rare disease called amyloidosis occurs when a protein called amyloid builds up in organs, causing them to malfunction and, in some circumstances, finally leading to the failure of multiple organs.
This condition is believed to have been the cause of death for former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.
The bone marrow is responsible for the production of the protein known as amyloid, which may typically be seen in the abdomen region. This protein has the potential to become deposited in the tissues and organs of the human body, which can result in those organs and tissues being dysfunctional.
Amyloidosis typically manifests itself in a variety of organs, the most common of which are the heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, neurological system, and digestive tract.
Early signs of this extremely rare disease include swelling in particular regions, numbness and tingling in limbs, difficulty breathing, and discomfort in organs.
Amyloidosis can be treated in a variety of ways, some of which include the use of medicine, chemotherapy, or a stem-cell transplant.
Since 2016, Pervez Musharraf had been traveling to Dubai each year to receive treatment for the extremely rare condition.
As a result of the allegations that he was responsible for the death of Benazir Bhutto, Musharraf was given the status of a wanted man in Pakistan.
Pervez Musharraf: Childhood And Family
Pervez Musharraf was born on the 11th of August 1943 in Delhi, India, to parents whose first language was Urdu. This was four years prior to the partition of India.
He was born to Syed and Zarin Musharraf, his parents. Syed received his degree in civil service from the Government of India after graduating from Aligarh Muslim University, which is located in Aligarh, India.
