Orissa University conducts a yearly exam known as OUAT CET ( Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology Common Entrance Test ) for students and eligible candidates present pan-India who are willing and interested to take a serious interest in Agriculture and Technology, to fit them into undergraduate courses like B.Sc in Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture etc. and B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering etc. All the participating institutes are under Orissa and, one has to go to Orissa and study there if enrolled in one of the courses.

Exam pattern for OUAT Common Entrance Test

• The pattern of the paper is MCQ – based.
• The total duration of the exam is of 2 hours complete.
• The question paper is of around 200 marks in total.
• 3 Sections are present in the paper – Physics, Chemistry are definite for every candidate, one can choose the third subject as either Maths or Biology.
• Physics and Chemistry have equal weightage of 66 marks.
• Maths/Biology have 68 marks for their section.
• Exam is held in written mode only, no option for online mode is available.
• For selection, OUAT common entrance test holds 50% weightage and, 25 % weightage is given to 10th result and 12th result each, specifically.

Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is a pen and paper-based examination where students can apply directly for the entrance examination via the online method of application.

Q) What is the Eligibility Criteria for Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT)?

Candidate from 12th class from the science of any UG course should be passed with minimum 50% aggregate percentage and 40% marks for SC/ST aspirants are eligible to appear in the OUAT entrance examination. Candidate needs to be a citizen of India. The age of the candidate must be at least 17 years as on 31st Dec 2019.

Candidates have a choice to select 3 exam centres nearest from their location from the 24 cities from the state of Orissa.

Q) What is the Exam Pattern for OUAT?

The exam paper is divided into 3 parts namely Physics, Chemistry and for the third subject, students have the option to select either biology or Mathematics. Each part of the Physics and Chemistry part has the weightage of 66 marks and Maths/Biology section contains 68 marks.

The duration of the examination if 2 hours and the paper will be of objective type with a total of 200 marks.
