Since 2007, Ejiro Evero has been working as a coach in the National Football League. He began his coaching career in 2007 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he was the defensive quality control coach.

He played for the Buccaneers for three seasons, during which time the team compiled a record of 21-27 and made just one appearance in the playoffs.

During his stint with the team, the head coaching position was held by both Jon Gruden and Raheem Morris, who were both different people. At the end of the day, Evero did not come back to play for the squad in 2010.

Evero was not employed by any coaching staff in the NFL during the 2010 season, but he was back in action in the league very immediately in 2011. The San Francisco 49ers have decided to promote him to the position of Quality Control Coach.

First, he was elevated to the position of Offensive Assistant Coach beginning in the 2012–2013 season, and then in the 2014–2015 season, he was elevated to the position of Defensive Assistant Coach. During the five seasons that he was the general manager of the 49ers, the team had a record of 46-30-1, a postseason record of 4-2 and a trip to the Super Bowl.

Additionally, the team went through two head coaching changes during that time, with Jim Harbaugh and Jim Tomsula serving in those capacities.

Ejiro Evero: Is He In Line To Become The Next Head Coach of the Broncos?

Evero turned down the opportunity to serve as the Broncos’ interim head coach for the final two games of the season because of his close personal relationship with Hackett, one of his closest personal friends and a former college teammate.

The Broncos offered Evero the chance to serve as their interim head coach for the final two games of the season.

Evero will be considered for the full-time head coaching position in Denver; but, the Broncos are anticipated to place a higher value on experience as they look for their next head coach.

Additionally, general manager George Paton and the new ownership group of the Broncos may wish to completely erase the Hackett period from their memories, which would include severing ties with Evero. This would be necessary in order to accomplish this goal.

Evero is very likely to receive head coaching interview requests from other teams that currently have openings in addition to the Broncos.

He is an outstanding communicator who has earned the respect of Denver’s locker room and has gotten good results out of the Broncos’ defense in his first year in charge. He has commanded the respect of Denver’s players.

As a result of Evero’s direction, the Denver defense currently sits in fourth place in yards per play (4.9), fifth place in projected points added per play (-0.057), and seventh place in points allowed (20.3 per game). Both their yards allowed per drive average of 28.29 and their points allowed per drive average of 1.69 rank in the top five in the NFL.

Evero’s capacity to construct a defense that is effective at thwarting aerial assaults stands out as particularly impressive in a league that places a premium on moving the ball.

Only the Eagles have allowed fewer net yards per pass attempt than the Broncos have, yet the Broncos are ranked first in terms of dropback success rate, third in terms of EPA per dropback, and fourth in terms of pass defensive DVOA.

Because of this, Denver has not relied excessively on turnovers like interceptions and fumble recoveries, as seen by the fact that their turnover rate of 10.4% ranks 20th in the NFL.

The extraordinary level of discipline displayed by the Broncos’ defense is a credit to Evero and the position coaches he has worked with. They are tied for second in the league with the fewest number of defensive penalties committed, with just 25 for a total of 246 yards.

If Denver is looking for a candidate that has prior experience as a head coach, they might choose to appoint someone like Sean Payton or Dan Quinn instead of Evero. Even said, other teams who have vacant coordinator positions will be looking for youthful coordinators with innovative ideas, and Evero, who is 41 years old, most definitely fits the profile of such a person.
