Daei, who was born on March 21, 1969 in Iran, is largely recognized as the greatest Asian player of all time.
He began his football career with his local team Esteghlala Ardabil at the age of 19, but rose to notoriety at Tehran-based side Bank Tejarat, where he scored 49 goals in 75 appearances.
