Career
Trusova began skating lessons in 2008. She trained in Ryazan under Olga Shevtsova before moving to Moscow in 2015 to train with Alexander Volkov. [20] In 2016, she joined the Khrustalny (Crystal) rink, where she was coached by Eteri Tutberidze and Sergei Dudakov.

2020
Trusova finished third in the short programme at the 2020 Russian Championships, skipping the triple Axel. The free skate was difficult, with two falls on her quad Lutz and quad flip attempts, as well as doubling out on her first quad toe loop attempt.
She finished third after landing her second quad toe attempt as well as her remaining triple jumps. She was “unsatisfied” with her performance, but she hoped to master the quad loop by the end of the season.

Trusova placed fourth at the 2017 Russian Junior Championships, finishing sixth in the short programme and fourth in the free skate.
Trusova made her international debut in late August 2017 at the 2017-18 ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) in Brisbane, Australia. She won the gold medal ahead of teammate Anastasia Gulyakova, who was ranked first in both segments. In her free programme, she landed an underrotated quad Salchow. Her total score at the event, 197.69 points, is the third highest ever achieved by a junior female single skater, trailing only Alina Zagitova and Marin Honda.
