Alycia Parks’ parents, Erica and Michael Parks, began coaching her tennis when she was seven years old.

Parks began playing tennis in elementary school and dreamed of becoming a professional tennis player at the age of seven. The elder Parks assisted in developing her skills, and with his guidance, she made her WTA Tour debut at the 2021 MUSC Health Open.

Alycia Parks’ Career Life

After qualifying as an alternate, she made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2021 MUSC Health Open in Charleston. In the first round, she defeated qualifier Grace Min before falling to top seed Ons Jabeur in the second round.

In her first round match at the 2021 US Open, she tied Venus Williams’ record for the fastest serve by a woman[2] in tournament history (129 mph).

As a qualifier, she advanced to the second round of the German Open in Berlin in 2022, her sixth career main-draw appearance. As a result, she rose 34 spots from 169 to 135 on June 20, 2022, setting a new career high.

She defeated former world No. 1 Karolna Plková as a qualifier for her first top-20 win at the 2022 Ostrava Open, where she was ranked No. 144.

And then defeated world No. 7 and fourth seed Maria Sakkari for her first top-10 win, advancing to her first WTA quarterfinal.

She won her first WTA Tour title in doubles at the same tournament, partnering Caty McNally. As a result, on 10 October 2022, she made her top 125 debut in singles and top 100 debut in doubles, debuting at No. 79.
