Brenden Dillon’s wife, Emma Dillon, played hockey at Minnesota State University in college. During her playing career, Mrs. Dillon garnered numerous awards.

Emma is originally from the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area and a graduate of Minnesota State University, according to her LinkedIn profile. She studied Sports Broadcasting and was a member of the MSU Women’s Hockey team.

Brenden and Emma announced their pregnancy in November, displaying an ultrasound photo. On November 16, 2021, Mrs. Dillon uploaded a photo with the comment, “Baby Dillon arriving in May!”

Early life

Dillon was born on November 13, 1990, to Debbie in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Dillon’s father was born and reared in Portugal before moving to Toronto, therefore he speaks French and Portuguese. His younger sister was a York University beach volleyball player.

Career

Dillon played volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track and field throughout elementary and high school in Surrey, British Columbia. He went to a private Catholic elementary school and was repeatedly awarded the top track athlete in the 100m, 200m, and long jump competitions.

Dillon began summer training with Impact Hockey Development at the age of 15 and earned a berth on the Pacific Junior Hockey League’s junior B Hope Icebreakers (PIJHL).

He, who stands five-foot-two, went undrafted in the Western Hockey League (WHL) Entry Draft and played one season in the PIJHL before signing with the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Dillon played for the Thunderbirds for four seasons, scoring 85 points in 271 games. Dillon signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars as an NHL free agency on March 1, 2011.
