Who Are Rehan Ahmed Parents? Meet Naeem Ahmed And Musrat Hussain

Rehan Ahmed was born in Mirpur, Pakistan, to Naeem Ahmed and Musrat Hussain. The 18-year-old will now represent England in the game’s oldest format.

Leicestershire’s Rehan Ahmed made headlines last night when he was named to England’s test squad for a tour of Pakistan. He will be the youngest English player to make his debut if he does so against Pakistan.

This desire to represent England is not unique to Rehan. His parents have always been there for him. Naeem Ahmed and his wife have made numerous sacrifices, from driving him to cricket practise to coaching him entirely on his own.

It was extremely difficult for Rehan and his family, who came from a working-class household. But this is merely the beginning of a cricketing adventure that has captivated many since he was 13 years old.

Rehan Ahmed Was Born To Pakistani Parents

Naeem Ahmed and Musrat Hussain, both Pakistanis, gave birth to Rehan Ahmed. Rehan is one of the couple’s five children.

The 18-year-old comes from a working-class household, with his father, Naeem, working as a cab driver and his mother keeping things running smoothly at home.

Sports are very important to the family. Naeem is a former cricketer who played for a side in his home country of Pakistan for a short time.

Today, Naeem is one of many sports fathers who witness their sons fulfil their aspirations. Naeem put everything he had into his career, and his son, Rehan, is and will always be grateful.

From working late hours to earn more to waking up with tired eyes to take his sons to cricket games in the morning. He has been in every step of Rehan’s cricketing journey that is soon going to reach another milestone.

But if it hadn’t been for his supporting mother cheering him on all along, this might have remained a fantasy. Even his father never pressed him to play cricket. It has always been Rehan’s choice.

Rahen, the cricket fan, can recall many fantastic cricketing partnerships off the top of his head, but none compare to the one his mother and father had.

Nationality of Rehan Ahmed’s Parents

Rehan Ahmed is an Englishman, while his parents, Naeem Ahmed and Musrat Hussain, are Pakistanis.

His parents are native to Mirpur, Pakistan. In their late teens, the pair relocated to Leicestershire.

Naeem Ahmed, the leg spinner’s father who tutored him during his formative years, came to England with his wife, Musrat, in quest of better chances.

Naeem and Musrat have five children, with Rehan being the middle child of three sons. Raheem and Farhan, their other two boys, have followed in their father’s footsteps.

If Rehan is a leg spinner, his older brother Raheem, who is a year older, is a left-arm seamer. Farhan, the youngest of the group, was born in 2008 and is an off-spinner for Nottinghamshire, where Rehan started his cricket career.

In 2017, Naeem and Musrat witnessed their son bowl against senior England and West Indies sides at the legendary Lord’s Cricket Ground. That day, the 13-year-old clean-bowled Ben Stokes.

Rehan made his List A debut in 2021, and earlier this year, in May, he made his first-class debut for Leicestershire. He claimed in his Telegraph interview that he has previously visited Pakistan, visiting Islamabad, Lahore, and Multan.

Mother of Rehan Ahmed

Rehan Ahmed and his mother, Musrat Hussain, have a close relationship.

Musrat has five children, three of whom are cricket players.

While Naeem worked as a taxi driver to keep their home running, Musrat looked after their five children. Musrat was photographed with her family and interviewed by the Telegraph UK last month.

Rehan revealed in the interview that his parents had made numerous sacrifices to see him reach his current status. Though she is not as enamoured with the bat and ball game as her sons, she is a staunch supporter of their cricketing endeavours.
