Growing up, Mackenzie Entwistle and his parents, Margeret and Dave Entwistle, participated in a variety of sports. On July 14, 1999, he was born to his parents in Georgetown, Ontario.

Mackenzie’s mother used to be a volleyball player. As a result, she values her son’s enthusiasm for ice hockey games.

Last year, the 23-year-old realized his mother’s request by becoming the ninth member of the Blackhawks to score their first NHL goal in the first period.
The victory was made even more memorable because it occurred on Mother’s Day. When Mackenzie spoke with the media following his memorable occurrence, he highlighted it during the post-game news conference.
Entwistle told WGN-TV that when he called his mother on Mother’s Day, she told him he needed to set a goal for her.
After the triumph, the champion told his mother, “If you’re watching, this one’s for you.” Margeret afterwards tweeted about her son’s NHL record-breaking goal.

NHL Player MacKenzie’s Father Played Ruby As A Youth
Dave Entwistle, Entwistle’s father, was a former rugby player who also represented Ontario in an international competition.
Mr. Dave also used to play ice hockey and lacrosse. He is of English origin, having been born in England to English parents.
MacKenzie’s parents lived on a cul-de-sac in the tranquil Halton Hills suburb of about 31,000 people at the time of his birth.
Dave and his wife, Margaret, were both former Toronto Police officers. They routinely took time off from work to attend sports and competitions.
Nonetheless, the Entwistle pair has a daughter named Jessica (MacKenzie’s sister) who works as a teacher.
Mackenzie’s sister may understand the uniqueness of her sister’s experience better than anyone else.

Playing Career
In the 2015-16 season, MacKenzie made his OHL debut with the Hamilton Bulldogs, earning 14 points (6 goals and 8 assists) in 60 games.
The following season, he had 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) in 54 regular-season games, as well as seven postseason games with the Bulldogs, where he had a goal and an assist.
MacKenzie skated in 49 games for the Bulldogs in 2017-18, tallying 38 points (13 goals and 25 assists) and appearing in 21 playoff games, tallying 17 points (with 10 goals and 7 assists).
On July 12, 2018, he was dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Jordan Oesterle, Vinnie Hinostroza, Marian Hossa, and a third-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft (together with Jordan Maletta, Marcus Kruger, Andrew Campbell, and a fifth-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft).
MacKenzie was the Bulldogs’ captain in 2018-19, recording 27 points (with 15 goals and 12 assists) in 29 games before being traded to the Guelph Storm, where he notched 30 points (with 15 goals and 15 assists) and helped them win the 2019 OHL Championship, recording 21 points (with 7 goals and 14 assists) in 24 playoff games.
On October 4, 2019, MacKenzie made his professional hockey debut with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, scoring his first AHL career point with an assist.
He scored his first professional goal and had his first career multi-point game on October 30, 2019. During his debut season in Rockford, he had 26 points (11 goals and 15 assists). His 15 assists placed fourth among all Rockford skaters, while his 26 points tied for fourth on the club.
