Sophie won the karting world championship the next year, finishing ahead of Giancarlo Fisichella; she also raced against Red Bull CEO Christian Horner in the 1989 Junior Kart World Championship.
His mother, like Max, has a racing gene. Paul Kumpen, her brother, is a former race pilot and the 1987 Belgian Rallycross Champion. Anthony, his son, is a Belgian professional racing driver and the team manager at PK Carsport. Similarly, her father, Robert, is a former chairman of the Belgian firm KRC Genk.
Despite her brilliance, she abandoned her prospective racing career at the age of 21 after meeting her ex-husband Jos Verstappen. In 2013, she broke a vertebra during her final race at the Zandvoort circuit. After retiring from sports, the former karter went to work as a social support worker at the OCMW in Maaseik.
Sophie Kumpen Accused Checo Perez of Cheating on His Wife Carola Martinez
Sophie Kumpern accused Sergio “Checo” Perez, her son’s teammate, of cheating on his wife, but has subsequently erased the message.
In response to an Instagram post slamming his son for the Brazilian GP incident, the former karter accused Perez of being disloyal to his significant other, Carola Martinez; she added, ‘And then in the evening cheating on his wife.’
Checo previously made news after videos of him dancing on a yacht with many ladies went viral; a 32-year-old was also seen with his arms around a blonde.
Similarly, the father of three was seen getting up up and personal with a brunette while celebrating his victory at the Monaco Grand Prix in June. The racing driver publicly apologised to his four-year wife, Carola Martinez.
Sophie Kumpen Has A Kid
Sophie Kumpen has more than one child besides Max Verstappen. She has a daughter, Victoria-Jane Verstappen, from her marriage to Jos Verstappen.
Sophie and Jos divorced when their children were young; their son moved in with the father following the couple’s divorce, while their daughter moved in with her.
Although the racing driver was born and raised in Bree, Belgium, to a Belgian mother, he revealed that he only spent his nights in Belgium and spent his days in the Netherlands.
Furthermore, he was raised as a Dutch person in Maaseik, near the Dutch border, by his father, therefore the racer ended up competing with a Dutch racing licence. He does, however, spend his vacations with Sophie and Victoria.
In contrast, Victoria, who grew up with her mother, is an Instagram fitness and fashion blogger. She has also formed a family with her partner Tom Heuts, with whom she has two gorgeous sons, Luka and Lio Heuts.
