Following his wedding to his love, Claire Holloway, Matthew Stevens felt like the luckiest guy on the planet. Before committing to each other, the pair dated for over seven years.

Stevens first met Holloway in a kebab shop in Swansea, Wales’ second largest city, in 2002. After seeing her for the first time, he knew he’d discovered the love of his life.

The 45-year-old Carmarthen native subsequently began dating her, and they eventually moved in together. They dated for for seven years before deciding it was time to commit.

In 2009, the former couple married and exchanged vows in Jamaica. The couple has two children, Freddie, who is 13 years old, and Ollie, who is eight years old.

After three years, their marriage ended. They split up in 2012 due to disagreements. They each have their own version of the divorce.

Matthew apparently began drinking regularly after Clare supposedly saw another guy, and their marriage began to fall apart in 2012.

Clare informed her husband in December 2012 that their marriage was dissolving, claiming that their physical intimacy had ceased and he had become a habitual drinker.

Matthew claims he left after discovering text messages on her phone. He told The Sun on Sunday that he questioned her a lot and she would tell him, ‘don’t be so foolish.’ But then, one day, the snooker player found her phone, which contained many explicit texts from “a bloke,” as he refers to himself, and he immediately fled the house.

She retorted that she had informed him that the marriage was over, but he refused to accept it. They had split up at that moment.

The 45-year-old footballer has no plans to leave the house until February 2013. He did, however, see her private texts at that point.

“Matthew discovered messages, not explicit messages, but messages,” she explained. The Welsh footballer believed she was having an affair, which she denies.

Matthew subsequently went to live with his sister, Charlotte, before renting a two-bedroom apartment.

He claimed to have seen Clare’s new lover driving what he claimed to be his Mercedes and BMW Saloon on numerous occasions. Clare claims that the automobiles are hers and that she purchased them. She stated that she retained the automobiles because he had been suspended for a year.

Stevens began his professional snooker career in 1994. He won the Benson & Hedges Championship and qualified for the Masters in his second season. He defeated Terry Griffiths 5-3 at the Masters, but was defeated by Alan McManus 5-6. Stevens’ career was over. In the following season, he demonstrated his potential by winning the Grand Prix by a score of 5-1 over Stephen Hendry.

During the 1997-1998 season, he performed well enough to reach the Grand Prix and UK Championship semifinals. He had the highest break of the competition in the latter competition. He defeated Alain Robidoux and Mark King in his first appearance at the Crucible for the World Championship, advancing to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Ken Doherty. In 1998, he competed in his first ranking final, losing to John Higgins by a score of 6-10 in the UK Championship final.

Matthew Stevens’ Personal Life

Stevens was born in the Welsh town of Carmarthen. He is fluent in Welsh thanks to his schooling at Bro Myrddin Welsh Comprehensive Institution, a school that only educates in Welsh. After defeating Martyn Holloway in the Regal Welsh regional event for under 16s in Morriston, his career took off. Stevens won the game on black with a score of 2-1.

In the year 2001, his father Morrell, who was also his manager, died unexpectedly.

He was a close friend of Paul Hunter’s and served as a pallbearer at his funeral. He won the United Kingdom’s richest poker event in 2004, when he was only 27 years old, by defeating Phil Taylor, a 16-time World Darts champion. He’s also a famous Texas hold’em poker player. Stevens had only been playing poker for eighteen months prior to his victory.

Stevens declared bankruptcy in 2015, while also going through a divorce at the same time.
