Parents Of Marc Marquez: Meet Roser Alentà And Julià Márquez, Family Facts
Roser Alentà and Julià Márquez, Marc Marquez’s parents, have witnessed their son’s famous ascent to popularity as a GrandPrix motorcycle road racer. He credits his family with assisting him in getting through difficult times.
In the “2013 MotoGP season,” he debuted for Honda’s factory team. Marc is one of the most successful and well-known motorcycle racers in history, having won eight Grand Prix World Championships, six of which were in the top class.
Marquez is one of just four riders to have accomplished this accomplishment, the others being Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, and Valentino Rossi. He is also regarded as one of the most important innovators of modern MotoGP racing.
He was the youngest rider to win the World Championship eight times, six in MotoGP and one each in the 125cc and Moto2 divisions. With 13 victories during the 2014 season, Marquez eclipsed the record set by fellow Repsol Honda rider Mick Doohan in 1997 for the most premier-class victories in a calendar year.
Not to mention, in the 2016 MotoGP World Championship, Marc became the youngest rider to win three premier-class World Championships, bringing his total to five titles across all classes in a GP career that lasted only nine seasons.

Marc Márquez Parents Are Roser Alentà And Julià Márquez
Marc Marquez was born on February 17, 1993, in Cervera, Spain, to parents Roser Alentà and Julià Márquez. His parents are working hard to assist him in pursuing a career as a driver.
He spent his childhood travelling to races with his father and uncle, who were both volunteer employees of the adjacent racing club “Moto Club Segre.” In addition, his mother helped the group by providing sandwiches. When he was four years old, the ambitious bike racer requested his parents to get him a motorcycle.
Marc’s parents eagerly granted his request and purchased him a bike with stabilisers so he wouldn’t flip over while riding it. He has since begun his racing career.
Marc’s Father Worked As A Construction Worker
During Marc’s childhood, his father Julia worked as a construction worker and as a Moto club volunteer, where he helped organise weekend motocross events.
Julia took Marc to racing games on a regular basis, which piqued his interest in motorcycle racing. Over the years, Marc’s encouraging father has gone with him, watching him triumph and crash.
His Mother Served As A Secretary
Roser Alentà, Marc Marquez’s mother, worked as a secretary and supported Marc’s father in making sandwiches for Moto Club volunteers. Alentà, as the family’s protector, is hard to forget the efforts made to enhance Marc’s profession.
She recalled how the family had to forego eating out in order to get racing boots for Marc. She also described how they often fastened leather strips to his racing outfits as he outgrew them.
Marquez Has A Younger Brother Alex In His Family
Marc’s younger brother Alex is a motorbike racer as well. In motorcycle racing, he has also won the Moto3 and Moto2 classifications.
According to MotoGP, Alex began the 2014 season as a title contender. He did, however, face competition from teammates Alex Rins, Jack Miller, and Romani Fenati. Marquez’s crew had to adjust to a new machine after switching from KTM to Honda.
The new Honda machine was ready for battle as it lined up on the grid for Qatar after a gruelling preseason. Marquez finished second, his first podium of the season. With nine podium places and three race victories in the second half of the season, he accelerated to the title.
He is also a world champion and the first rider to win the lightweight World Championship on a Honda. Marquez won the title after the sixth race of the season in Mugello, where he finished sixth in the standings and 44 points behind the then-champion Jack Miller.
Marc And Alex Were Interested In Racing As Children
The Marquez brothers, who are now pros in the sport, were first interested in motorcycle racing when they were children. They repeated the feat in 2019, becoming the first pair of brothers to win the world road racing title in the same season.
Despite not having as many professional victories as Marc, Alex has performed so well that he and Marc are regarded as motorcycle racing’s world champion siblings.
Marc Marquez Started His Professional Racing Career In 2008
In 2008, Marquez made his professional racing debut. He won his first championship in 2010. The following year, a racer joined Moto2 and won the season finals in Valencia. Similarly, winning a new Circuit of America event in Texas changed his life since he garnered recognition and was hired by Repsol Honda.
He made a record for being the youngest MotoGP champion. The Spaniard has had a fantastic career thus far, and it is expected that he will continue to break and set records.
Márquez also signed a four-year contract with Honda during the offseason, keeping him with the team until the end of 2024. Because of this unusually long deal, he was unavailable for the standard biannual contract cycle as well as the 2023 campaign.
Personal life
Despite winning multiple championships, Márquez has always refused to use the number one as a racing number, preferring his #93 – the year of his birth. The 93 is shown on his bike and in official products with white letters and a red backdrop to match Honda’s red-orange-navy blue livery. Julià Márquez has followed him around the world in his team garage and is a regular feature in the Grand Prix paddock, but his mother’s appearances are more rare.
His younger brother, lex Márquez, is also a world champion in motorcycle racing, having won the Moto3 class in 2014 and the Moto2 class in 2019. The brothers were the first to win two road racing world championships in the same season, and they repeated the feat in 2019. In a 2014 interview, Márquez joked about preferring bikes to girls, but admitted it was a “tough topic” and added that, while being fearless on a bike, he’d never venture out on a boat at sea.
Márquez speaks English fluently in addition to his native Catalan and Spanish. Even after becoming world champion, he chose to stay in his hometown of Cervera rather than relocate to a tax haven, as his website describes “training opportunities” on dirt motorcycles as “excellent.” His official fanclub, chaired by his uncle Ramón, is also in Cervera, next to an exhibition of memorabilia, including championship-winning bikes, in the municipal museum. Márquez is also involved with a number of charitable organisations.
