Who Are Parents Of Chuba Hubbard? Meet Candace And Lester Yearwood, RB Family Facts

Parents Of Chuba Hubbard: Candace And Lester Yearwood, RB Family Facts

Chuba Hubbard’s parents have been supportive of his career, but his mother had misgivings at first.

The 23-year-old had a terrible childhood because his father abandoned him when he was three, but he maintains he was never alone at home because his mother and stepfather were always there for him.

Hubbard attended Bev Facey Community High School in Sherwood Park, Alberta, after growing up in Edmonton and then moving there.

During his three seasons, he rushed for 6,880 yards on 458 attempts and scored 82 touchdowns. He committed to play collegiate football in the United States at Oklahoma State University.

Similarly, after redshirting his first season at Oklahoma State in 2017, Hubbard played in 13 games in 2018, gaining 740 yards on 124 rushes and scoring seven touchdowns.

Hubbard, on the other hand, was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round (126th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Chuba Hubbard Parents: Candace And Lester Yearwood

Chuba Hubbard was raised by his parents, Candace and Lester Yearwood, when his biological father abandoned the family when he was a child.

On a similar vein, his parents separated when he was young, and Candace raised four young children while pursuing nursing school and working long nights.

She is from Manitoba, thus the majority of her family is a 12-hour drive away.

Chuba and her siblings were repeatedly transported to Edmonton while she was a child. She wonders how they managed to stay together despite everything as she thinks back on those years.

His mother is described as “the strongest women on the earth.” He admires her for going above and beyond to help him and his siblings.

And he expresses gratitude to his stepfather, Lester Yearwood, for embracing their lives and serving as a family stabilising force.

His Mother Is A Football Fan Mom of the Year in Canada

Chuba Hubbard, a native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, is now with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers after a stellar career at Oklahoma State, where he led the NCAA in rushing in 2019 and won the Cornish Trophy as the top Canadian in the NCAA that same year.

Candace, “Football Canada’s Mom of the Year,” spoke with FootballCanada.com last year as part of the Football Weekend in Canada celebration.

She required some convincing at first to agree to become a football mum.

Chuba eventually signed up for his first organised football league at the age of nine, despite some early pushback. She stated that if there had been non-contact football for children of that age, her initial reluctance would have been lessened.

Her initial hesitancy would have been lessened if non-contact football had been available at that age level. Candace reflected on her decision to keep Chuba at home, despite the obvious allure of football academies in the South.

Chuba Hubbard Has Three Other Siblings

Hubbard was raised in Edmonton as the youngest of four children before moving to Sherwood Park. Although the identity of his siblings are unknown, he does have a sister named Adaeze Hubbard.

Adaeze Hubbard is an R&B and soul singer-songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta. She believes that her music would enchant not only her listeners’ ears, but also their spirits.

She considers herself a serial entrepreneur outside of music. She is the founder of the Exposed Creatives Society and the owner of Crowned Coaching and Consulting (@crowned.coaching_), where she helps start-up creatives and businesses turn their dreams into reality!

In contrast, his sister is married to a basketball player and has a child named Aziyah. Her birthday was on April 23rd this year.

His grandmother, Cecile Hubbard, who worked as a nurse for almost 40 years before retiring on April 20, 2018, is among his other family members.

Chuba Hubbard Left Home At Age Of 18

Candace could tell that her son’s decision to leave home alone at the age of 18 had been difficult. She was concerned enough to call the Oklahoma State coaches and say, “Her son looks rough.”

When she paid him a visit, she would load her bag with frozen containers of his favourite home-cooked dishes, Nigerian stew, and okra soup, according to The Athletic.

His family has watched him prosper in Oklahoma with pride. When his team needed him to fill in for Hill, who had a rib injury, Hubbard ran for 104 yards and three touchdowns against Oklahoma in 2018.

He ran for over 100 yards in three of his final four games, convincing his coaches that he could handle greater playing time.

During the 2019 season, his parents have had a difficult time finding broadcasts or live feeds of his games. Candace is tense since they’ve been forced to listen to a radio transmission.

Footballer Chuba Hubbard Was Drafted By Caroline Panthers In 2019

Caroline Panthers Drafted Footballer Chuba Hubbard Hubbard was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round (126th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft in 2019. Hubbard will receive a $713,174 signing bonus and a total of almost $4.2 million from Carolina, according to Spotrac.

Furthermore, Chuba was selected by the Calgary Stampeders in the fifth round (43rd overall) of the 2021 CFL Draft. On May 6, 2021, he agreed to terms with the Panthers on a four-year, $4.2 million contract.

There is little room for negotiation when it comes to the first contracts for new draftees because the collective bargaining agreement specifies the essential provisions.

College career

After redshirting his freshman year at Oklahoma State, Hubbard appeared in 13 games in 2018 and rushed for 740 yards on 124 rushes with seven touchdowns. In 2019, he returned as Oklahoma State’s starting running back and had a fantastic year, rushing for 2,094 yards on 328 touches and scoring 21 touchdowns. Despite expectations that he will enter the 2020 NFL Draft after this season, Hubbard declared that he would redshirt his junior year. He received the Jon Cornish Trophy as the season’s top Canadian in NCAA football.

After a photo appeared of Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy wearing a T-shirt advertising the One America News Network, a far right news programme, Hubbard vowed to boycott the football team and any affiliation with the university in June 2020.
