Both of his older brothers and sisters have helped raise their younger brother in their own ways. But it looks like basketball has helped him connect in a unique way with his brother Antoine.
The genius known as “Ant-Man” has always seemed interesting to the older brother. He always thought that since his younger brother worked on his shot every day, he would become a great basketball player one day.
Well, Antoine, his older brother, is seven years older. He has been Edward’s guardian angel for his whole life, helping him work toward a better future.
In general, the above age comes from a 2019 article that said Antoine was 25 years old.
Edwards played football as a running back, quarterback, and cornerback for most of his childhood.
When he was 10 years old and playing youth football with the Atlanta Vikings, he was one of the best Pop Warner running backs in the country. But after seeing his brothers play, Edwards switched to basketball because he “thought it looked like more fun.”

Edwards has had more heartache than a child should have at his age. When he was in the eighth grade, his mother, Yvette, and grandmother, Shirley, both died of cancer within eight months of each other.
As was already said, Edwards’s father was not involved in his life, so his 28-year-old brother, Antoine, was given custody. Since then, Edwards has been cared for by Antoine and Winfred Jordan, his mentor and a family friend.

When he was in the ninth grade, he started training with Justin Holland, a former college basketball player for Liberty who now runs a basketball training business in Atlanta.
Years in high school
Rivals thought of Edwards as a four-star recruit in 2016 because of how well he played for the Atlanta Xpress 15-under Amateur Athletic Union team. He began playing high school basketball for Therrell High School in Atlanta as a member of the 2019 class. [6] Early in January 2017, Edwards moved to Atlanta and joined the 2020 class at Holy Spirit Preparatory School. He moved to Holy Spirit Preparatory so that he could do better in school because it had “small class sizes and support to help that.”
In March 2018, Edwards helped Holy Spirit Preparatory defeat The Heritage School for the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Class AAA state championship. He reclassified back to the 2019 class in November 2018 after seeing academic improvement. Because of this, the recruiting website 247Sports put Edwards at the top of their list of the Top247 recruits. Even though Edwards scored 27 points for his team during his senior year, The Heritage School won the GISA Class AAA title. He averaged 29 points, nine rebounds, and two assists per game by the end of the season. Edwards was named to the first team of USA Today All-USA and the fourth team of MaxPreps All-American.
