Recap of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 1

People monitoring the movement of hollows at the Soul Society Department of Research and Development note a tremendous increase in their destruction. It indicates to the scary possibility that the borders between the living world and spirit society would be blurred in a matter of days. Squad 13 officers Ryunosuke and Shino are charged with monitoring the situation in Karakura town, oblivious to this development.

Although the latter appears to be bold and confident, the former appears to be haunted by the chance of seeing Hollows there. Unfortunately, his worst nightmare comes true, and to make matters worse, Shino is easily knocked unconscious by one of the adversaries. Ryunosuke is about to be slain when Ichigo, Orihime, Sado, and Ishida not only easily beat the hollows but also assist the duo in healing from their injuries.

Later, Ryunosuke and Shino awaken in Ichigo’s room, but just as they begin to discuss the event that brought them together, a man bursts through the window. Ichigo reacts quickly and kicks him outside. Although he initially believes the man is an Arrancar, he quickly discovers that he is dealing with a Quincy named Asguiaro Ebern.

Meanwhile, squad 11 investigates the Rukon District and discovers that the residents have inexplicably vanished. Ebern continues to ridicule Ichigo in Karakura town, begging him to bring out his Bankai and use it on him. Despite his confidence in overcoming the substitute Soul Reaper, Ichigo’s extraordinary skills eventually leave him speechless. Unfortunately, Ebern manages to depart just as he is ready to interview him.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Episode 1 Ending: What is the Wandenreich?

While unexplained events take place around Japan, Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryuusai, the captain of the first division of Soul Society’s principal military arm, remains in his office, unaware to the majority of them. While he is buried in thought, six masked men enter and allegedly kill one of his men. They identify themselves to be from the Wandenreich and declare war on the Soul Society, declaring that it will be destroyed in the coming days. Wandenreich is a Quincy covert empire that seeks to destroy the spirit world, despite the masked men’s lack of explanation.

The Quincy were forced to depart the human realm after losing a war against the Shinigami about 1,000 years ago. They eventually landed up in the Seireitei, where they thought it would be safer for them to reassemble. Using the abundant Reishi there, they built their hidden empire (Wandenreich) and waited for enough power to take over the world, destroying the Soul Society in the process. After decades of waiting, the Quincy are now ready to realize their twisted ambitions, and the declaration of war is the first step.

Who Leads Six Masked Members of the Wandenreich to Confront Shigekuni Yamamoto And Declare War on Soul Society?

When the six masked men broke into Shigekuni Yamamoto-office, Genryuusai’s they were headed by a man who did all of the talking. He not only chastised the captain’s shoddy security standards, but also warned Yamamoto that the Soul Society would only last five days. The disguised leader went on to tell Yamamoto that the people of Soul Society will experience a similar fate as he killed one of Yamamoto’s men directly in front of him.

Despite the fact that he never introduces himself to the captain, it is subsequently discovered that he is an Arrancar named Luders Friegen. Although he respects Wandenreich’s monarch, he is rather condescending to his fellow citizens and appears to regard himself as superior than them. Unfortunately, this attitude quickly gets him into trouble.

Who is the Mysterious Man That Cuts Off Luders Friegen’s Hand? Is He the Emperor of Wandenreich?

Asguiaro Ebern regroups with other Wandenreich members after escaping Ichigo’s clutches. When Luders Friegen enters with other disguised men, he discovers Ebern bowing and pompously praises the act. Ebern, on the other hand, is quick to point out that he would never bow before someone like him. Luders’ right arm is severed and he collapses to the ground before he can completely realize what is occurring.

Asguiaro Ebern is actually bowing in front of a furious guy seated on a throne, who tells Luders that he despises strife and requests his report on recent events. Although the show stops there and does not provide much explanation on his identity, it turns out that the mystery guy is none other than Yhwach, affectionately known as Father of the Quincy by his troops. He is not just the current Wandenreich emperor, but also the Soul King’s son.

But it turns out that something weird is happening in other locations as well, as people of Rukon District have mysteriously vanished, while Hollows all over Japan are being destroyed.
