An introduction and role-playing

The Real Housewives of Potomac’s “First Three Seasons”

The show was originally titled Potomac Ensemble before being renamed The Real Housewives of Potomac on November 11, 2015.

The series is the network’s second effort at producing a reality show set in the Washington, District of Columbia area. The Real Housewives of Washington, which debuted on television in 2010 but was canceled after just one season, was the first effort.

On January 17, 2016, Gizelle Bryant, Katie Rost, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Robyn Dixon, and Ashley Darby were among the cast members who appeared in the first season premiere episode.

Rost was let go from his part on the show shortly after production on the second season began.

Following that, Monique Samuels was added as a cast member for the second season, which premiered on April 2, 2017.

Candiace Dillard Bassett joined the cast at the start of the third season, which premiered on April 1, 2018, and Jordan played a “friend.”

Jordan opted to leave the show after the third season concluded.

The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Season 4 up to the Present

The fourth season began production in August of 2018, and the season premiered on May 5th, 2019.

During the season, Dillard married, and Rost was presented as a “friend of the housewives.” Because Rost was not included in the cast for the fourth season reunion, this was also his final performance on the show.

The fifth season of the show premiered on August 2, 2020, with Jackson Jordan appearing as a guest star. This season, Wendy Osefo joined the cast.

Samuels has announced that she will be leaving the series in December of 2020.

On the first episode of the sixth season, which aired on July 11, 2021, Mia Thornton, a new housewife, and Askale Davis, a housewives’ friend, were introduced.

On October 9, 2022, the seventh season premiered, and it was reported that Davis would be departing the show. However, former housewife Charrisse Jackson-Jordan will return as a housewife’s friend, and Jacqueline Blake will also join the cast.

The debut episode of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” was seen by a total of 2.54 million people and achieved a rating of 1.2 among adults aged 18 to 49, according to Nielsen Media Research’s “live plus-3” measurement.

The show received the greatest ratings of any Real Housewives launch across all series. According to “live plus-3” figures, the first season of the sitcom drew an average of 2.1 million viewers. As a result, it became the network’s most-watched inaugural season of a show since The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010.

Critical Response of The Real Housewives of Potomac

The reality series has received generally positive reviews from television critics. “Like its predecessors, The Real Housewives of Potomac offers high-level escapism,” Amy Amatangelo wrote for The Hollywood Reporter.

“You may watch with the security that you would never behave this way and enjoy in all the ludicrous hijinks,” Amatangelo continued. Amatangelo praised the show’s diverse cast, saying that the network hopes the property will become “an equal-opportunity offender.”

“Between the program introductions, there was plenty of shade-throwing and one-liners to keep ‘Housewives’ devotees entertained,” Joi-Marie McKenzie said in her ABC News assessment of the debut episode.
