Atletas (1993–1996)
Ilgauskas made his professional debut in his hometown of Kaunas in 1993, with local club Atletas. In the 1994-95 season, he averaged 20.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game.
Cavaliers of Cleveland (1996–2010)

The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Ilgauskas with the 20th overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft. He signed a multi-year contract with the Cavaliers on August 1, 1996. He suffered a slew of foot and ankle injuries in the early stages of his career. He missed the entire 1996-1997 season due to a broken bone in his right foot.
