He was also promoted to the Reds’ major league roster on August 11, 2022. He made his Major League debut at catcher on August 24, 2022, going 1-2 with one run scored in a 7-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

In the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, Robinson was picked by the Houston Astros in the 21st round. After signing with the team, he was sent to the New York–Penn League’s Tri-City ValleyCats. Robinson played for the Class A Quad Cities River Bandits in 2017. He played for the Class A-Advanced Carolina League’s Buies Creek Astros. He hit.239 and had seven home runs and 30 RBIs. Robinson played 103 games for the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks in 2019. In those games, he hit.217 with seven home runs and 36 RBIs. After the season, he played baseball in the Australian Baseball League’s winter league for the Canberra Cavalry.

As a sophomore in 2012, he set single-season school records for touchdown passes (27), passing yards (3,373), total offensive yards (3,992), completions (275), and completion percentage (.676). As a junior, he broke his own record for completion percentage (.694).
When he was a junior, he tied the school record with five touchdown passes against Air Force (9/7/13) and Weber State (9/14/13); when he was a freshman, he did the same thing against Wyoming (10/8/11). Set a single-game school record by completing 22 of 25 passes, which is 88%, against Southern Utah on August 30, 2012. In a 48-41 overtime win at No. 19 Louisiana Tech on 11/17/12, he ran for 121 yards, which tied the school record for a quarterback in a single game. This was also his career high.
